There has been some speculation as to the cause of Amy Winehouse’s untimely death. Some have attributed her death to her known drug abuse issues and problems with drinking. Now, we’ve learned that her family thinks that it was her withdrawal from alcohol that caused her passing.

According to People.com, Amy ignored doctors’ advice when it came to gradually reducing her alcohol intake. After her heavy drinking, Amy went cold turkey in the past month, according to a family friend. Her family says that they believe that the abrupt quitting caused too much of a shock for her system.

The source said, “Abstinence gave her body such a freight, they thought it was eventually the cause of her death.”

The true cause of her death is pending the results of the toxicology tests that were taken upon her death. The results won’t be made available for two to four weeks.

Amy was said to be on a bender during her last few days, but a source close to her family insists that wasn’t the case. Her father, Mitch Winehouse, said that he believed it was the opposite. The source said, “He said doctors had told Amy to gradually reduce her intake of alcohol and to avoid binging at all costs. Amy told him she couldn’t do that. It was all or nothing and she gave up completely. Mitch said the shock of giving up, after everything she had been through over a bad few years, was just too much for her to take.”

We’ve learned that alcohol withdrawal can lead to delirium tremens, which is more known as the “DTs”. This can lead to death, so their reasoning is plausible.

Crystal Harris recently spoke with shock jock Howard Stern about her former relationship with Playboy mogul, Hugh Hefner. She basically said that she only had sex with Hef once and that it only lasted for about two seconds.

Hef took to Twitter to clear up any rumors that Crystal started about their love life. He tweeted, “Crystal lied about our relationship on Howard Stern but I don’t know why.”

The message was re-tweeted by fans, but he later deleted it. In response to one fan, he said, “Crystal convinced me that she adored me. That was the first lie.” He told another, “I feel sorry for Crystal. She seems lost.”

It didn’t take long for Hef to replace Crystal, though, so there’s that. He tweeted, “I’m happy to be in a better place with new girlfriends Anna Sophia Berglund & Shera Bechard.”

I can’t say that I blame the man for wanting to clear up any speculation. At least he didn’t find out about how she really felt about him after they had already tied the knot.

In case you hadn’t heard, reality star Kim Kardashian is suing Old Navy and parent company, Gap Inc., over their using a lookalike in a new commercial. The company hired Melissa Molinaro to promote the brand in new ads, and it has Kim fuming mad!

Apparently, some folks might have been confused to think that Kim was actually endorsing Old Navy. She has launched a lawsuit at the company, in order to protect her deal with Sears.

Now, Melissa is coming forward to say that she is proud of her commercial! She wouldn’t comment on the lawsuit that has stemmed from her involvement — or her reported involvement with Kim’s ex, Reggie Bush, but she did give a comment about the ad itself.

She said, “It was a great shoot and I was honored to be chosen from the auditions which included more than 500 other girls held in different cities.”

At least she didn’t get famous from peddling her own sex tape and then lying about it. She only looks like Kim, without the trashy bits. We like this one.

We’ve already reported that Jennifer Aniston and her boyfriend, Justin Theroux, were house hunting together — but now we’re hearing that their relationship is on the fast track even more!

Reportedly, they were already said to be pre-engaged, and now the rumor mill suggests that they’re also planning to get married before the end of the year!

A source said, “Jennifer feels there’s no reason to wait. She’s never felt more comfortable nor felt she had so much in common with a man as she does with Justin.”

The source went on to say that Jen wants to have a small ceremony in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, where they would only invite a few close friends.

Apparently, she doesn’t want to wear white, either. The snitch revealed that Jen is considering wearing a “short off-white” or “pastel” dress.

True Blood star Joe Manganiello, who plays Alcide Herveaux in the hit HBO series says that romance for Alcide and Sookie might just be on the horizon! Oh yeah, he also talks about that pesky modesty sock that they make their naked stars wear!

With regard to the possible hook up, he said, “Well, they’re teasing it a bit. Obviously my character’s very close and she has stuff going on with Eric right now, but as you can see from the last episode, the ghost of her grandmother channeled through this medium and told her to not give her heart to the guy she may be falling in love with. So obviously, the door’s still open.”

In the scene above, Alcide comes over to help Sookie find Eric, after he drains her fairy godmother, Claudine. He stripped off nude to change into his wolf form, prompting the interviewer to wonder if wolves wear underwear.

Joe said, “We had long talks about whether werewolves wear underwear or not. In our character research, we decided that, no, they don’t. I was actually wearing what we refer to as ‘the sock’ there.”

The interviewer then asked if it’s better with or without the modesty sock, to which Joe replied, “Before I got on to the show, there were actually people on the show who didn’t wear the sock. [Alexander Skarsgard, for instance?] But, I guess for health purposes we all have to wear the sock.”

Joe actually wears the sock while working with his co-star, a real wolf. He said, “Here’s the thing, when the wolf is present and they bring them out on big thick chains. My brother jokingly sad he was gonna sneak into my trailer and switch out my sock for a sausage casing. But there’s literally a trainer standing in back of me, waving raw meat at this thing to get it to look at me…and I’m naked.”

After Kat Von D announced on Twitter that she had parted ways with former fiancee, Jesse James, we’d learned via a clip from he reality show that she actually went and got his face tattooed onto her body. (SEE PHOTO HERE.) We said that it might be time to get that covered or removed — because who wants a childhood photo of their EX tattooed on them?

Apparently it’s a non issue for Kat, who has opted to keep the ink. She commented to TMZ about the controversial tattoo, saying, “I love my tattoo”, adding, “It’s more than just a portrait, it has a lot of meaning.”

Really? It’s a tattoo of your ex-fiancee of when he was a fifth grader. It seems rather creepy to us that she would want to keep it.

Accused murderer Casey Anthony has been laying low, after being rumored to be hiding in Carlsbad, California. Reportedly, her lawyer, Jose Baez, has been negotiating with several networks in an attempt to garner the highest bid for her first post-jail interview.

She was acquitted of murdering her two-year-old daughter, Caylee, earlier this month — and since, she’s gone into hiding. Some of the major networks were throwing around offers for her interview — and the latest we’ve heard was an offer for $1.5 million. The networks were even clamoring to get her parents, George and Cindy Anthony, on television for the sum of $250,000 — an offer that they reportedly laughed at.

TMZ’s head honcho, Harvey Levin, took to his official Twitter account to dispense with the rumors that his company had entered into the bidding war. To avoid any confusion, he tweeted, “we reported the bidding for Casey Anthony is >$1.5 mil. they think TMZ bid on her. We did NOT, would NOT and will NOT. I think NBC got her.”

Since ABC has decided that they will no longer offer money in exchange for photo and video licensing for interviews, we figured they would be out of the equation.

Attention ladies (and some men!) True Blood hunk Alexander Skarsgard has broken things off with his girlfriend, Kate Bosworth!

Alex is most known for playing racy vampire Eric Northman on the hit HBO series. He has ended his two-year-long relationship with Kate. A source said, “It was very mutual. And it happened a while ago.”

It appears that Alex has been enjoying his freedom post-split, as well. Comic-Con attendees saw the vampire hottie making eyes at a tall brunette during his appearance there with the rest of the show’s cast.

A source confirmed, “He’s single…and he is loving the attention!”

Did they get together to promote their long-awaited movie, Straw Dogs? I’d hate to call it a showmance for a movie’s sake, but it seems like that’s what it was. Was she only using him for publicity? What do you think?

Jennifer Lopez first signed on to sit at the judge’s table on American Idol for a cool $12 million. Now we’ve learned the singer/actress is asking for the producers of the show to pony up $34 million for her return!

Jennifer was said to be on the fence about whether or not she was going to return for another season of the singing competition. Now, we’ve learned that it may just all boil down to the moolah.

The producers of the show are confident that she will be back. Show boss Cecile Frot-Coutaz said, “We’re in good shape. No worries. No dark clouds on the horizon.”

Rumors were floating around recently that J-Lo was on the fence because she was looking for a bigger payday…and as it turns out, that’s just what she seems to be getting. We get it, she’s a huge star, but $34 million?!?? That’s an insane figure.

The reports suggested that Jennifer wanted the same pay that Simon Cowell was receiving when he judged the talent show.

Disney starlet Demi Lovato has revealed that she was a poor role model. The actress and singer checked herself into rehab last November after it was revealed that she was cutting herslef and had an eating disorder.

She said that she used to get upset when young girls referred to her as an inspiration to them because she knew her real life was different.

In a new interview, she said, “Kids used to tell me, ‘You’re my role model.’ And I’d want to shake them and like, ‘Whyyyyy?’”

Now that she’s sought treatment for her issues, she says that she’s a person that young fans can look up to. She said, “I finally feel like I can inspire people. I can be proud of it.”

She went on to say that she hopes her honesty about her personal problems will give fans the courage to get help if they need it. When asked about why she has been so vocal about her own problems, she said, “Because I know that if I can use my voice to speak to one person, or one family, then I’ve done my part. I feel like it’s no coincidence that God put me through all of this and has also given me the voice that I have. I feel like my purpose on Earth is much greater than just being a singer, a musician or actress. I think it’s to reach out to people and to raise awareness of these issues that not many people speak about.”

You go girl! We love her positivity and the fact that she’s using her global voice to help those in need! Kudos to her.

As Amber Portwood learned last year, it’s not always a good thing to tattoo someone’s face onto your body!

It looks like it’s a tough lesson, but tattoo artist Kat Von D is learning that the hard way. Just yesterday, Kat revealed on Twitter that her relationship with Jesse James is over. She tweeted, “I am no longer w Jesse, and out of respect for him, his family and myself, that’s all the info I’d like to share. Thanks for respecting that.”

Now, we’ve learned that prior to their breakup, she tattoo’d his face on the left side of her body. The tattoo was taken from a childhood photo of Jesse. In an episode of her show, L.A. Ink, she said, “I’m getting his face tattooed on me and I have no idea how he’s going to react.”

Jesse reacts by saying, “You’re crazy”, but then says that he loves it and he loves her.

She said that she wasn’t sure about his reaction, telling him, “I thought you were going to tell me you were breaking up with me.”

Earlier this week, the couple confirmed the end of their engagement and relationship. Jesse said that the distance between them was “too much”. Kat lives in L.A, while he lives in Austin, Texas. He said, “I’m so sad because I really love her. The distance between us was just too much.”
