Rachel Crow’s ‘Baby’ X Factor Performance Video
by Jessica LeFevre on Oct.26, 2011, under articles

Rachel Crow performed Justin Bieber’s hit song, Baby for the live X Factor performances last night.
I wasn’t sure of the song choice, considering that the song was already sang on the show. But still, she brought a really cute age appropriate performance to the show.
Check out her performance:
Is it enough for Rachel to win it all? Do you think she’s a true contender for the top prize? Sound off in the comments below and let us know what you think!

by Roberta Ferguson on Oct.26, 2011, under articles

LeRoy Bell performed Nobody Knows on last night’s episode of The X Factor — and man, does this guy have a voice!
He’s got soul, that’s for sure. I’m not sure that this is the song that I would’ve had him sing…but still, he did a fantastic job. Check out his performance, below:
What did you think? Are you a LeRoy fan? Does he have what it takes to win it all? Sound off in the comments below and let us know what you think!
Drew Ryniewicz’s ‘What A Feeling’ X Factor Performance Video
by Roberta Ferguson on Oct.26, 2011, under articles

Fourteen-year-old singer Drew Ryniewicz performed Irene Cara’s song, Flashdance (What A Feeling) on last night’s live performance episode of The X Factor.
She really slowed the song down a lot. I was expecting the chorus to speed up and for it to be made into this huge crowd pleasing pop number. Perhaps she’s catering to the younger audience who doesn’t remember the original version of the song.
Check out Drew’s performance, below:
The original, so you can hear what I’m referring to:
What did you think of Drew’s performance last night? Is she in it to win it? Does she have the vocal power to walk away with the five million dollar recording contract? Sound off in the comments and let us know what you think!
Josh Krajcik’s ‘Forever Young’ X Factor Performance Video
by Roberta Ferguson on Oct.26, 2011, under articles

I knew Josh Krajcik was a star the moment he first opened his mouth to sing on The X Factor. Last night’s live performance episode was no different. Josh performed Forever Young by Bob Dylan and it was fantastic. I really cannot say enough good things about this guy’s singing ability.
Check out the video of his performance:
What I really wanted to hear was Josh perform a Michael Bolton song. This will do fine, though. He definitely has a lot of heart and soul in that voice, doesn’t he?
What did you think of Josh’s performance last night? Was it your favorite performance of the night? Did you like the song choice?
Melanie Amaro’s ‘I Have Nothing’ X Factor Performance Video
by Roberta Ferguson on Oct.26, 2011, under articles

On last night’s two-and-a-half hour episode of The X Factor, saved at the last minute singer Melanie Amaro belted out Whitney Houston’s famous song, I Have Nothing.
I’ve got a bone to pick with anyone who really tries to sing anything Whitney. I grew up with Whitney Houston songs, she’s a legend. Her range is spectacular. No one should ever really try to cover Whitney. Heck, even Whitney can’t cover her own songs anymore. I Have Nothing is a big song.
Check out Melanie’s cover:
Now if this were American Idol and Simon Cowell was back to his original Mr. Nasty self, he would have definitely called this performance “pitchy”. Now I’m not saying that she didn’t do a good job, but really no one should venture to cover Whitney.

Stacy Francis’ ‘One More Try’ X Factor Performance Video
by Roberta Ferguson on Oct.26, 2011, under articles

Stacy Francis killed it last night on The X Factor, putting on a cool performance of George Michael’s famous song, One More Try.
We’re glad she didn’t cry throughout the performance, as we’re used to seeing her with her makeup all messed up. She definitely has a whole lot of talent!
Check out the video:
She’s going to be the one to beat and look out for! Good for her for chasing her dream, we just love what she brings to the show. Is Stacy your favorite of the top 12? Sound off in the comments below!
Brian Bradley’s ‘Jump’ X Factor Performance Video
by Roberta Ferguson on Oct.26, 2011, under articles

Taking the stage first on last night’s two-and-a-half hour episode of The X Factor was 14-year-old rapper extraordinaire, Brian Bradley AKA Astro. He performed Jump by Kriss Kross.
Check out the video:
What did you think of his performance? It sounds just as good as the original! We’re glad that Astro made it through to the top twelve! Are you a fan?

Steven Tyler Hospitalized After Falling In The Shower
by Roberta Ferguson on Oct.25, 2011, under articles

Sixty-three-year-old Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler has fallen in a hotel shower!
Reportedly, it was a nasty fall, in which he knocked out several of his teeth. TMZ reports:
Tyler — who was scheduled to perform in Paraguay with Aerosmith tonight — was reportedly rushed to a nearby hospital.
A rep for the venue where the band was supposed to perform tells TMZ … tonight’s concert has been canceled.
It’s not the first time Steven has taken a dive….but he needs to take better care of himself or it could turn out a lot worse than just a couple of missing teeth.
Let’s hope that he’s okay, he’s a fantastic singer and an all-around funny guy. He makes watching American Idol bearable. Pray for Steven!
We’ll keep you posted if we hear anything else!

Chaz Bono Upset At DWTS Judges Over Animal Comments
by Roberta Ferguson on Oct.25, 2011, under articles

As it turns out, Maksim Chmerkovskiy wasn’t the only one miffed at the judges on Dancing With The Stars last night. Apparently Chaz Bono and Lacey Schwimmer were also offended — but for different reasons.
After performing their Tango, judge Bruno Tonioli had some rather unflattering comments for the author. Bruno said, “It was like watching a cute little penguin try to be a big, menacing bird of prey. It has to be menacing, dark, dangerous, hypnotic…like a panther stalking.”
After the show, Chaz said, “I always go out there and give my best and I feel like I’ve improved week to week and I don’t feel like this week was any different.”
His partner Lacey said, “They called you an animal. They said you have a bad personality. I think it’s fair to say he’s not a favorite.”
Chaz said, “I’ve been called an Ewok, a cute and cuddly bear, now tonight a penguin. It’s disrespectful to me.”
Lacey said, “It’s rude and unnecessary, and as his friend I’m embarrassed. We are both anti-bullying…And having the judge refer to him as animals or dis his personality, it’s unnecessary. It’s rude and it’s going back on everything that people are trying to fix. It’s disappointing that it has to be here and it has to be one of my friends.”
She added, “I cried today because I was so hurt, and I was so embarrassed that they had said that. I’m glad that Maks stood up, because I was about to jump on that table and rip their heads off.”
