Ashton Kutcher’s Two And A Half Men Debut Breaks Ratings Records

People really flocked to Ashton Kutcher’s debut episode on Two And A Half Men last night! Fans of the show, along with Charlie Sheen fans were wondering just how well his replacement was going to do. In case you’ve missed it, you can check out our official recap HERE.
Ashton debuted as Walden Schmidt on the highly anticipated show, after its creator and Warner Brothers fired its former star. So, we tuned in to see how Ashton would do and more importantly, how the show would fare without Charlie.
According to reports, no matter the reason, the show got 27.2 million viewers who tuned in! The show also received a 10.3 rating in the 18-49 demographic. That basically means that mostly everyone shunned the season premiere of Dancing With The Stars to watch Charlie Harper get lambasted.
That’s pretty interesting, considering Charlie and Ashton were going head-to-head for the most viewers for the night. Still, we have to admit, we didn’t care for how the show handled Charlie’s death. They made his family seem very uncaring at his funeral and afterward. The only one to show any remorse at his passing was his brother Alan, who had a heartfelt talk with Charlie’s urn after the wake.
It appeared to us that Chuck Lorre was more interested in giving Charlie every disease known to man, making his family rude and uncaring and flopping Ashton Kutcher in his spot as the man-child, hapless, exhibitionist womanizer.
What did you think? Why did you watch? Were you curious about how Ashton was going to do? Or were you more interested to see how the show would handle Charlie’s death? Most importantly, will you watch again next week for part two? Let us know, in the comments!
