Chuck Lorre Comments On Charlie Sheen's Firing

Charlie Sheen was fired from the CBS hit show, Two And A Half Men, after telling his boss, Chuck Lorre, off. It was a tale that we could all sympathize with. Someone giving their boss the finger? We loved it — and we ate it up.

Charlie was actually on a downward spiral, which involved mass quantities of cocaine and hookers/escorts. After his tirade, Warner Brothers called time on his employment with their company. Thus, Ashton Kutcher replaced Charlie on the show.

Now, Chuck is opening up about his feud with Charlie. He says that they fired Charlie in an attempt to prevent him from killing himself with his drug use.

Chuck said, “This was not a game. This was drug addiction writ large. This was big-time cocaine, and in his own words, an epic drug run that could have ended with either his death or someone else’s.”

He went on to say, “When we would shoot a show on a Friday night, there was always that I’ll see you Monday. I hope. The holidays were the worst, because those long stretches of time were the ones we feared the most.”

    I love Aston but not on this show…they really need to bring Charlie back…this show just isn’t the same =(

    I have to say that the show is not the same without Sheen. I like Kutcher, but Two and 1/2 men is not at the level it was with Sheen. I agree, bring Charlie Sheen back.

      i say  just  get rid of the show.  replacing one jerk with another  is no answer..   The original show had its moments but it was pretty crude.  Jon Crier  is terrific ..   I am sure he can find another gig!!

    Yeah….right…I can tell you were really concerned, Chuck Lorre…you jerk.  You were concerned with your pocketbook and you know it….it was OK for Charlie to do coke on the show….he made it a hit…you made it sh..t.

    I think they should bring back Sheen to the show. Sheen made CBS OVER 500 million dollars with this show. Now he gets 40 MILLION from reruns on FX, yeah I’d say he came out on top. Lorre is also known as a “difficult person to work with”. Charlie Sheen acted as the BUFFER between the producers and the crew members. Kutcher, does not do that, he does the work and then leaves. Sheen ALWAYS stuck around. 
    One of the great things about the show was the dynamic between Jake and Uncle Charlie, even Allan. The three actors played well off each other. Cryer had already worked with Sheen on Hot Shots and they did well together there. Sheen actually GOT Cryer the JOB! Sheen’s departure was fueled by addiction sure, but also he was probably fed up with the way the show was going (the new character’s of Eldridge, Lisa, etc, less Jake) Sheen said recently on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno that he would have “fired his ass too” because Sheen said he delivered his lines, but no like when he was all there. But he’s also disappointed in the direction the show has taken (he’s not the only one) Sheen already has TWO Golden Globes, one of them was for Spin City, when he was handpicked to replace the indelible Michael J Fox. He’s also got an Golden Globe and an EMMY for Two and a Half Men. 
    I don’t think Sheen would have gone off the deep end, had Lorre NOT fired him or his ex wife divorced him. He’s always been a partier, but Sheen has NOTHING on Robert Downey Jr, think about it Downey ended up in Corcoran State PRISON for 2 years almost for his drug related offenses and weapons charges. That was Downey public meltdown, Sheen just want a different route. Thankfully Downey has stayed sober (he’s too talented) Sheen is very TALENTED too, he’s got range, he’s always had range. Hopefully Sheen is staying sober.
    When you have an actor like Charlie Sheen on a show, he’s a POWERFUL presence, he’s got tons of charisma and when you take that away the SHOW goes FLAT. The centerpiece is gone, I tried to watch it with Kutcher on the show, and the writing was FLAT. There was no more of the hilarious innuendo that sneaked past the censors in prior seasons. I like Ashton Kutcher too, but It feels like the writers are fumbling around trying to find where Kutcher’s character Walden fits in. They have YET to let Ashton Kutcher BE FUNNY, he can be (remember Kelso on That 70′s Show) Alan has become even MORE schizoid and neurotic than he was before Charlie left. So now he just seems annoying; and Walden does not seem to reel him in like Charlie did before the audience went (“enough” then came Sheen’s dialog, a SLAP from Sheen to Cryer, etc. or Charlie warning Alan, “one, two, three..” ) They keep bringing up Charlie though, Alan has found his diary, he’s become Charlie, there was NO BODY, there’s a possibility that Sheen could come back.

    Bring Charlie back!!!! He was the show!!! Ashton is not the right actor to fill in Charlie’s shoes. He was hilarious… I don’t even watch the new two and a half men shows anymore. I would rather watch re runs with Charlie sheen.

    There is no fair in love and war, all goes.
    Two Broke Girls which plays before 2.5 men sets you up and the viewers are running on numb control. The Big Bang rode some glory from empty slots from earlier 2.5 men There is definitely a need to fill some holes. James Bond changed his character multiple times. Maybe there is room for two versions. When you compare Classic Coke to the orignal 2.5 Men. Now the later to Coke Zero with Ashton, that correlation hits home. I saw The Big Bang Theory get funnier. Seems like they were putting more into that show. Now that I know Charlie is ok financially, I think he needs ot raise his kids and stay out of the lme light, budget and take a curtain call from Robert Downey JR. . When you are like Lohan and Sheen you cannot keep up the same pace and route. We become the keepers of out own destiny. Change your friends and stay home and go home.

      The last show I watched this week was about weldon being raised by an ape?  Alan getting on the roof was stupid.  The whole show sucked.  If you cant get sheen on there now it will go away.  It turned stupid.  I dont think he will even come back at this point, and I wouldn’t blame him.  I love watching reruns but can’t rewatch any of the new season!  Barely make it through the first time!

    Charlie must return to the show!!!! Aston is cool but his character NO a BIG NO NO!!!! Such a mommys boy!! where Charlie was funny hated his mommy and plain slut!!!! whom i loved!!!!! No if this goes on to any account i would say that the story goes as follows: Rose kid napped Charlie because he discovered the lie in her fake marraige and wanted to leave her and then she locked him away or just think of something man but please bring Charlie back to the show
