Jessica Simpson Wants A Home Birth

Jessica Simpson has revealed that she wants to have her baby at home — and she’s even thinking about raising her first child with fiancee, Eric Johnson, as a vegan!

Reportedly, she decided on a home birth after watching Ricki Lake’s documentary, The Business Of Being Born. Since she and Eric are both said to be vegans (whatever happened to real girls eating meat?), they are considering a vegan upbringing for their child’s diet.

A source said, “Jessica is hell-bent on the idea of giving birth naturally at home after watching Ricki’s documentary. She’d love to deliver her baby in the comfortable surroundings of her Los Angeles mansion.”

We’re sure she would love to have a natural birth — until it starts hurting so badly that she can’t stand it any longer.

The source went on to say, “After becoming a vegan, Jessica lost a little weight, her cholesterol level dropped, her skin looked better and she felt more energized. Both she and Eric want the best for their baby, and they believe he or she will be healthier raised as a vegan.”

No doubt….but let’s see how long that natural childbirth thing lasts….Ha!

I have had all three of children at home, no problem. Throughout human history that is how women have birthed so why on earth would Jessica suddenly be unable to bare the pain? Please, I am so sick of hearing that about home birth, it’s ridiculous.

Oh you’re so, so so cynical. I had all my three children at home.  Yes it was very hard work and yes it was AMAZING and I’d do it again tomorrow.  How on earth do you think the planet got to 7 billion people!!!

My facebook page “la luna mama” was created to do exactly the opposite of your critique on Jessica Simpson…EMPOWER women. Articles like this are exactly why the C-section rate is so high.

Unless you’ve actually ever been in labor, I do not want to hear a thing about childbirth.

Both of my children – the youngest is now 4 months and was nearly 10 pounds at birth – were both completely natural with zero interventions or medication. The last, my son, was also born in my living room.

Women were made to birth. It is solely in people’s heads — and doctor sponsored propaganda — that makes women think they cannot birth their own babies.

Gee, it’s a miracle the species is even around according to people like you. Whatever did women do before modern medicine?

    Oh. Wait.
    Home birth.

And for those who like to spout off crap before checking facts: Women started  dying in hospital births because they didn’t wash their hands before attending them. They’d go from a corpse to a baby.  USA has the highest rate of interventions and the highest mortality rate of the developed world. Lake’s documentary is a good place to start for those who would like real facts.

Way to go Jessica. Way to be empowered and take back your birth.

Actually, it was meant in jest…but to your point, I have given birth twice to two healthy children….heh

GO JESSICA! I’m VERY impressed she’s considering home birth. Honestly when I heard she was pregnant I thought “great another scheduled c-section in the main stream media” but WOW this is wonderful! I wish her the best of luck and HAPPY BIRHTING HONEY!!!!

btw I’ve had both my sons at home in my birth pool. I decided on home birth before I saw BOBB. I choose to birth at home b/c my mom had my 2 youngest brothers at home. I SAW them come into this world and it made such a good impression on me at a very young age (7yo and 10yo) I knew I would birth at home. I enjoyed birthing so much I am training to be a FEAR to FREEDOM Birth Facilitator and I offer my support to ALL pregnant women <3

I had 3 kids without any drugs at all, and at the hospital, which is the worst place to have a drug-free birth.  It was intense, but I guess I’m tougher than most.  Seriously, why do we make childbirth out to be such a big deal?  It’s like wimpy and lame has become hip.
