Robert Pattinson Disses Twilight Copycats

Robert Pattinson doesn’t have any kind words for those who have copied the movie franchise that has made him a household name. He doesn’t specifically mention True Blood or the Vampire Diaries, but he is dissing Twilight Saga copycats. Hey Rob, we feel your pain with the copycat business, dude. Just be happy that you’re inspiring people.

He said, “It’s like that Coke versus Pepsi thing, and how Coke just said, ‘There’s a reason everyone compares themselves to us.’ Twilight was the original and everybody’s trying to copy it. They’re all just trying to jump aboard the Twilight train.”

I beg to differ! If anything, all of the vampire flicks are copying Interview With The Vampire. Duh. They’re not copying Twilight, that’s some PG-13 BS right there. True Blood isn’t PG-13 whatsoever — AND the guys are hotter. So we’re not seeing what Rob is seeing. Are you?

What do you think of the comparison? Heck, we think it’s even dumber because they waited so long for Edward to turn Bella into a vampire!! At least in True Blood, Sookie shared her blood with Bill in the first episode.

Who’s with me? What do you think between True Blood and Twilight? I think there needs to be a True Blood movie, don’t you?

        I don’t think they are hotter than Rob. I personally cannot get into True Blood. I’ve tried on numerous occasions, but no such luck. Not dissing anyone else on their vampire drug of choice but I see where he is coming from.

          Omg, how can you NOT get into True Blood?!?! That show is amazing…I’m a huge fan of Twilight, True Blood and The Vampire Diaries. I highly suggest you watch the first couple of episodes of the first season of True Blood because I’m sure you would like it! :)

    Twilight is way better than true blood and I am not some love sick teenager I am a 32 year old fan of Twilight and the cast I think it was better than Interview with a vampire that is just my opinion :-) Thanks,

    It’s wrong for Robert to openly talk about Twilight like that. He should’ve done some research on what came up first… True Blood premiered before Twilight did… And in books, The Vampire Diaries was written before Twilight’s concept ever came out. So Rob should’ve just learned to shut it… So who’s biting off another? Not True Blood or Vampire Diaries…

    No, if there was a True Blood movie then they are copying Twilight. Twilight is not bent to be blood suckers galore like TB is obviously. I like that fact that it’s an M rated movie because it don’t have to have SEX in it to sell it, OR TO GET PEOPE INTERESTED…..obviously like TB does. Twilight has the story, everything in this book/movie is about the STORY…..you can’t beat A BLOODY GOOD STORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    True Blood was written BEFORE Twilight, so how can it be seen as copying? It is the other way around!!!! Sookie from True Blood can read minds, of everyone except Bill, and that is one of the reasons she is attracted to her, just like how Edward is attracted to Bella initially for that same reason, plus the whole ‘your blood smells so special’ thing that Twilight copied from True Blood. I read True Blood first, and always thought how obvious it was that Twilight majorly ripped it off.

    Emm can we talk about Anne Rice and her Vampire books. How long ago did ‘interview with a vampire’ come out? While you were still sitting in nappies sucking your thumb Rob. Sounds like someone should pull their head out of their ass! Again looking at you Rob! If that is your real name. Get some acting lessons after you do some research! Loser!

      I have to agree, Anne Rice and her books are amazing as well as the movies, “Interview With The Vampire” will alwayssssss be one of my faves but that doesn’t mean that as time goes by and people follow in her foot-steps that their work isn’t also as good. I’m a fan of The Twilight Series, The Vampire Diaries and The True Blood series. I can appreciate all of their different takes on vampires because let’s face it, if the rules always stayed the same it would be pretty boring. I mean you could even say the same thing about Anne Rice, before her, Vampires were suppose to wear capes and have widows peak and in other cases they would be scary demonic monsters, she’s the first person that came up with outrageously good looking vampires and everyone embraced it, so why can’t we do the same for other people. As for Rob’s acting talent, I’m so tired of people just always judging him from Twilight, have you ever seen Water For Elephants, Remember me, How to Be or Little Ashes (which he was absolutely amazing in and made me totally respect him as a very gifted actor)?????. So for 1, I find it very hard to even believe that this is an accurate quote of something he said, because Its not like him to say something like that and it wouldn’t be the first time a gossip website innacurately quoted someone famous and for 2, maybe before you say that Rob needs to do more research before he says something, you should take your own advice and judge him by his other projects other than Twilight before you basically say he’s a bad actor who needs to take classes.

    As much as I am n love and pretty much obsessed with Robert Pattinson, he is wrong. True Blood’s first season actually premiered BEFORE Twilight came out. So the fact that Twilight was either still filming or in post production when True Blood had already started airing, I don’t think anyone was copying anyone. If anyone is copying, it’s Vampire Diaries, and their defense is that the Vampire Diaries books came out in the early 90′s, wayyyy before the Twilight books, but that really has nothing to do with it considering the CW picked up the show after the whole vampire craze and also considering that I’ve read The Vampire Diaries series and it’s NOTHING like the show, AT ALL. The only thing that’s the same are the character’s names and that’s about it, I mean, even Elena in the book is suppose to be blonde with blue eyes, lol. Even on an episode in the first season, the first time Elena and Stefan get intimate on her bed, he throws himself off of her and into the wall! Sound familiar?? Lol
