On last night’s performance episode of The X Factor, we were wow’ed by some performances and others, well — not so much. In case you’ve missed last night’s show, you can read our recap of what went down here.

Here’s a brief run-down on who did what:

Stacy Francis – Whitney Houston’s Queen of the NightVIDEO
Marcus Canty – Rose Royce’s I’m Going DownVIDEO
Drew Ryniewicz – Coldplay’s Fix YouVIDEO
LeRoy Bell – U2′s I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking ForVIDEO
Lakoda Rayne – Keith Urban’s I Wanna Love Somebody Like YouVIDEO
Astro – Eminem’s Lose YourselfVIDEO

Josh Krajcik – The Beatles’ With A Little Help From My FriendsVIDEO
Chris Rene – Coolio’s Gangsta’s ParadiseVIDEO
Rachel Crow – Etta James’ I’d Rather Go BlindVIDEO

We will go as far as predicting that, given their performances last night, Rachel Crow and Astro are safe.

On tonight’s elimination episode, we will see Willow Smith and Jessie J take the stage to perform. Willow will be performing Fireball, while Jessie will be performing Domino.

The top 10 acts will be revealed! Are you excited? Who are you rooting for? TELL US!

The top eleven are performing their opening medley! They are totally rocking it! To start off, L.A. Reid apologized to Melanie for his comments from last night and said he was jealous.

Willow Smith is taking the stage to perform her song Fireball! We’re whipping our hair back and forth, as we speak. After that flawless performance, Jessie J is performing Domino. What a hip performance!

Results time! Going through to next week’s show are, in no particular order:

Stacy Francis
Astro
Melanie Amaro
Marcus Canty
LeRoy Bell
Rachel Crow
Josh Krajcik
Drew Ryniewicz
Chris Rene

At risk are The Stereo Hogzz and Lakoda Rayne, so they are going to have to sing for their supper! Lakoda Rayne took to the stage to sing first, singing No Air. After they put on a spectacular performance, The Stereo Hogzz took to the stage and did You Are Not Alone by Michael Jackson. Will their performance be good enough to save them twice in a row?

L.A. Reid voted to send The Stereo Hogzz home. Nicole Scherzinger voted to send The Stereo Hogzz home. Paula Abdul said she wasn’t going to vote. (See the video of Paula getting emotional here.) Then, she voted, crying, to send Lakoda Rayne to go home. Simon Cowell said he’s voting to send The Stereo Hogzz home.

Stereo Hoggz have been eliminated! What do you think of tonight’s elimination? Was the right act eliminated? Take our poll!

    Rap has no musical credibility.

Great music transcends race, gender, nationality, and age, and rap is the only ‘genre’ that no one over the age of 30 has in their CD collection, and hardly anyone outside Britain and the US.

Rap is at best like poetry or a speech which, if good, has a rhythm but no meaning without the words.

Music, if good, does not need the words because the chord changes, instrumentation, mood, etc, produce the intended meaning.

Indeed, it’s only been in the last fifty years out of a thousand years of musical creation that a vocalist has been at the forefront of music.

Rap should have died in the 80′s but, sadly, video and porn kept it alive.

I strongly disagree with your comment. I am 32 and I listen to rap and I have rap albums.
I have friends and family members who are in their 40s who listen and buy rap music.

I am of Asian ethnicity, living in New Zealand. We listen to rap music here, and back in my original country.

The best rap music has great lyrics and depth of meaning. What makes a good rap song is the lyrical content, rhythm, background music and it delivery.

Just because someone does not enjoy a particular genre of music, does not mean that nobody else does.

Please do not speak on behalf of the world.  Your opinions do not represent the people on the other side of the world. If you did your research, you will find that Rap is a popular genre here in the Land Down under … and as I am not a porn watcher, I would say Rap has been kept alive by factors other than the ones you have quoted.
I am not a particular avid Rap fan, but can appreciate music in all its genres and so should everyone else without people like you slagging off other genres merely because you are not a fan ..

I think you need to visit AFRICA if you thing Britain and US are the only place that appreciate RAP. Most of africa eat breath and sleep RAP. SHAME that you are so narrow minded and think that Britain and US are the only places that listen to RAP, thats actually quite hilarious, and all I can do is but feel sorry for you coz you have made a fool of yourself by that statement. CLEARLY you need to come to africa, or rather you need to TRAVEL.

I was never a fan of rap music, but I have respect for the genre. For me, the better rap music takes the most liberties in terms of lyrics, and presents topics and themes pop music would rather not go to, i.e. social issues and the like.

Rap music isn’t just about sex and violence. Even a non-fan like me can see that.
