On tonight’s episode of The X Factor USA, the judge’s take their groups to their homes, after having split them up into four groups: Girls, Boys, Over 30s and Groups. In case you’ve missed the group splitting, meet the top 32 X Factor contestants here.
The girls are jetting off to France to meet their mentor, Simon Cowell. They’re all happy to see Simon waiting for them. Rachel Crow is so cute! The groups are in Santa Barbara to meet their judge, Paula Abdul. In Malibu, the Over 30s group is meeting their judge mentor, Nicole Scherzinger. The boys are off to the Hamptons, New York, to meet their judge, L.A. Reid.
Nicole brought along Enrique Iglesias to help her with mentoring the over 30s. Paula Abdul introduced her helper, Pharrell, much to the happiness of the groups. Simon’s special guest was supposed to be Mariah Carey, but due to Hurricane Irene, she was unable to make it. He has chosen to judge them alone. L.A. Reid introduced Rihanna to the boys and they’re super excited!
Each of the judges have selected the songs that the contestants are going to sing. Up first is Brian Bradley, rapping like mad to The Message. Rihanna said he’s so cute and a mini J-Cool. He did a great job!
Singing first for Simon is Simone Battle, singing Help! by The Beatles. It was alright…so so…Simon said, “Well done”, but she told Steve Jones that her voice cracked. Simon said she’s fantastic and the crack just added emotion.
Performing first for Paula Abdul and Pharrell is The Anser, performing Perfect by Pink. They did pretty well! Performing first for Nicole and Enrique is Dexter Haygood, singing Crazy In Love by Beyonce. He made it his own and he was entertaining.
Up next is Skyelor Anderson, singing Nobody Knows It But Me by Kevin Sharp. Rihanna said he has a lot to work with and needs to be polished.
Tora Woloshin is up next, singing I Can’t Get No Satisfaction by The Rolling Stones. She did a great job. Simon said she sounds like a little rock star, but there was something that didn’t quite get to him.
Next up, is a group comprised of girls who were put together at the end of boot camp. They’ve decided to call themselves Lakota Rain and they’re a pop/country group. They’re singing a country version of Born This Way by Lady Gaga. Not too shabby!
Performing next is Stacey Francis, singing Purple Rain by Prince. She did fantastic! Nicole is crying, but Enrique is asking if a record company would sign her.
Next up are The Brewer Boys, singing Only Girl In The World by Rihanna. Not too shabby. Phillip Lomax is singing Don’t Stop The Music by Rihanna. Loved it!
Elaine Gibbs is up next, singing Stop Crying Your Heart Out by Oasis. She did okay…
Singing next is a Caitlyn Koch, singing Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow by The Shirelles. I love her voice, she sounds excellent.
Nick Voss is up next, singing Everybody Wants To Rule The World by Tears For Fears. I think he killed it, but I’m not sure if that’s good or bad.
4Shore is up next, performing If You Love Me by Brownstone. It’s not bad!
James Kenney is singing Russian Roulette by Rihanna. It wasn’t bad at all, but that’s a hard song to get right.
Up next is Drew Ryniewicz, singing It Must Have Been Love by Roxette. She’s doing a fantastic job and I just love this song.
