Lily Collins Covers Nylon Magazine's March 2012 Issue

Lily Collins is featured on the front cover of the March 2012 issue of Nylon magazine. Inside the magazine, she talks about how she had to make her own name in Hollywood, despite the fact that she is the daughter of Phil Collins. Along with that, she discusses her role as Snow White in her upcoming movie, Mirror Mirror.

With regard to making her name in Hollywood, she said, “A lot of people’s perception is that I don’t have to work my way to get in a room because someone is always interested in the last name. I feel very lucky to have grown up the way I did, but now it’s kind of up to me what I do with my life.”

When speaking of her role as Snow White in Mirror Mirror, she revealed, “For me playing Snow White was a crazy dream come true, because I’ve always been someone who would read books and then go and make a movie in my head.”

I think she’s right in that directors always want someone famous in their movies and then hope that the talent comes later. She must be good at what she does, because a famous last name can usually only get you in the door.

What do you think?
