If the latest cover of “Entertainment Weekly” is to be believed then the search for the actor who will play Christian Grey is over. Alas, the magazine reveals that “White Collar” star Matt Bomer is taking on the role of the S&M infatuated billionaire.

Fans pining away for “The Vampire Diaries” star Ian Somerhalder to take on the role must be upset — if this is even remotely true. Could it be?

The answer is….no! According to our sources, the cover of “Entertainment Weekly” showing Matt Bomer playing Christian Grey is a Photoshopped masterpiece. At this stage in the game, the movie execs are still short-listing actors and actresses to take on the lead roles in the movie. No casting decisions have been made.

Now you can sleep at night. Matt Bomer is not playing Christian….yet. We are still waiting with baited breath for the release of the casting list for the movie. Casy Lebow should play Kate. Tyler Posey as Jose. I see Mark Harmon and Dee Wallace as Christians parents. Sharon Stone, HAS to play Mrs Robinson!!  How about Kellan Lutz as Elliot?  I am stuck on Taylor. How about Jason Statham? To old? I dont think so. Anyway, those are my thoughts.   36. Matt Bomer has to be Christian Grey. The book describes him exactly as this and the author gave him a thumbs up, I really don’t think Ian Somerhalder suits the part because his face just doesnt match up to how the author describes christian, and just because Matt Bomer is gay, or has been in Magic Mike or Glee doesnt mean he cannot play a romantic/serious role. Hasn’t anyone seen him in White Collar? He needs to be Christian Grey. Rant Over.

  49. Have we considered that none of these guys are young enough to play Christian. Matt is drop dead gorgeous, however a little femme to play Christian, even in Magic Mike, he didn’t do it for me, sorry. Alex, for me doesn’t have the looks that Bomer does and lusting after him, not hot enough. My vote would be for Alex Pettyfer or Ian Somerhalder. They’re young, amazing body, and can do the brooding.

  58. I just can’t see Matt Bomer who has openly admitted to being
    gay plays the part of Christian Grey… no matter how good of an actor you are.
    In the campus paper interview that brought Anastasia to Christian Grey, she
    asked him if he were gay. This is a very intense moment that will essentially
    set the tone for both lead characters. It’s hard to imagine and be captivated
    by a Christian Grey who can never fall in love with Anastasia because they are
    on the same team! I think Ian Somerhalder is the perfect Christian Grey!!!

I watch white collar, read the book before i looked up anything online about the book and I was already set that Matt Bomer is the one and only actor that fits everything about christian PERFECTLY. And if you watch white collar like me, you know he is very talented and can play many different roles and I don’t see anyone else that can play it better than him. LOVE vampire diaries, love LOST LOVE ian somerholder, but no… he does NOT fit the part, there are certain things about him that do not fit Christian Grey. The author of this book needs to not make any decisions until she considers all the facts, she needs to treat this like her baby, the characters have to fit perfectly! and Matt Bomer is that, As Nina Dobrev is a good for Ana.
