Stephen Colbert To Return To Work Today
by Jessica LeFevre on February 20, 2012 | Comments Off

Last week, political satirist Stephen Colbert abruptly suspended the taping of his show, The Colbert Report. It was a mystery when the show went into re-runs without explanation.
Stephen traveled to Charleston, South Carolina, to be with his 91-year-old mother, Lorna. She was sick, so Stephen rushed to be by her side. Stephen has already lost his father and two brothers in a plane crash in 1974, so you can imagine that his mother’s health is of the utmost importance to him/.
Fans of the talk show funny man expressed their best wishes to Stephen while the show was in a brief hiatus. To that, he took to his official Twitter account to say, “My family and I would like to thank everyone who has offered their thoughts and prayers. We are grateful and touched by your concern.”
Comedy Central has announced that taping will resume today, barring any unforeseen circumstances. We’re glad to see Stephen returning to television so quickly. Even more importantly, we are glad to hear that his mother is okay.
Were you sad to see the show go into re-runs without explanation? We’re hoping that things continue to go well for Lorna.
