Alex Trebek Suffers Mild Heart Attack

Seventy-one year old “Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek was admitted into Cedars-Sinai Medical Center on Saturday after suffering what was determined to be a mild heart attack. He is currently being held there under observation, where he is recovering.

Sony Pictures Television released a statement saying, “Trebek is in good spirits and is currently under observation and undergoing further testing. He is expected to fully recover and be back at Jeopardy! when production begins taping in July for the new season, the show’s 29th.”

On December 11, 2007, Alex suffered a minor heart attack, but was released just four days later. He returned to the show’s production as scheduled just a few weeks afterward. On July 27, 2011, Alex was robbed in a San Francisco hotel room. He chased the burglar and snapped his Achilles tendon as a result.

Let’s hope that Alex Trebek has a speedy recovery. That show is absolutely nothing without his voice, don’t you agree?
