“True Blood” actor Alexander Skarsgard has been chosen to be the new face of Calvin Klein and we couldn’t be more pleased. The actor, who plays Eric Northman on the HBO vampire show was said to have signed a deal with Calvin Klein to front its latest male fragrance campaign.
Reportedly, Alex shot the ads for the fragrance two months ago, but insiders are keeping the information hush hush. Two years ago, Alex did some Hickey Freeman suit ads which were shot by Annie Leibovitz. The company’s creative director Joseph Abboud said, “We want to attract the younger and younger thinking customer. Hickey Freeman was much more traditional under the old regime. It lacked sex appeal.”
Alex has also said that he likes to wear Swedish brands in order to pay tribute to his home country. He said, “I’m interested in fashion and I love a lot of Swedish brands: Acne, Whyred, Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair and Hope.”
Update: We have a photo of Alexander’s campaign for Encounter, through CK:
