Alyssa Milano is walking away from her role in ABC’s show “Mistresses” after the production of the show moved from Los Angeles to Vancouver for filming, the actress announced earlier Wednesday.
She confirmed reports of her departure on her official website. She revealed:
After two wonderful seasons in Los Angeles, the studio has decided to shoot season three of Mistresses in Vancouver, Canada for financial reasons. It’s with a heavy heart that I have decided that I can’t relocate. I have two babies under 4. Being a mother and wife comes first and I just can not uproot my children and separate the family by moving away.
I will miss this job desperately and wish everyone the absolute best.
She and husband David Bugliari have two children, son Milo Thomas who was born in 2011 and daughter Elizabella Dylan who was born this year. She certainly can be commended from one mother to another about her need to make sure her family is taken care of first. It has to be hard enough to leave her baby daughter in order to go to work in the first place, but to have to consider relocating for the show because of financial reasons? We can’t say that we blame her for wanting to stay local and be a mother to her children ahead of her career.
While she opts to stay closer to home to find work, we are absolutely positive that something will come her way with regard to work prospects. She is a very talented actress who could bring any character to life and should have no trouble working within her schedule in order to be able to stay in Los Angeles while filming and still have time for her family.
