American Idol is heating up! We’re down to the top four in the singing competition — and it’s anyone’s guess who’s going to sent home tonight! In case you missed last night’s performances, check out our recap right here!
The competition has been narrowed down to Haley Reinhart, James Durbin, Scotty McCreery and Lauren Alania. James really wow’ed the judges last night, with them laying most of the night’s criticism on Haley.
Next week, the Idol hopefuls will be taking camera crews to their hometowns for their Hometown Heroes segment. Will we be left with three contestants? According to our poll, most of our votes say that Haley will be sent home.
Enrique Iglesias and Jordin Sparks are there, along with a performance by Lady Gaga!
James and Scotty are performing Brad Paisley’s song, Start A Band, on the show now. They’re doing a pretty good job, for a country song.
Stay tuned for the latest updates as we recap the show live!
Haley and Lauren are performing Gunpowder & Lead by Miranda Lambert. The guys murdered them in the duets. I’m not feeling this version of the song at all, Haley seems to be bringing the duet down, while Lauren is showing a ton of enthusiasm.
After the vote, Ryan has announced that Lauren has been chosen as part of the top three.
For their preparation in meeting Lady Gaga, they watched her NYC HBO special performance of You And I. Enrique Iglesias is performing his new song, Dirty Dancer, featuring Usher. Holy autotune, Batman! Afterward, we were treated to a live version of his song, I Like It. Ugh, there’s just too much autotune in his songs to enjoy them at all.
Season six Idol winner Jordin Sparks is performing her new song I Am Woman. This song isn’t that wonderful. And for the record, Jordin has been a “woman” since December 22, 2010. But hey, at least her hair looks cute straight and with purple highlights.
Steven Tyler is showing off the world premiere of his new music video for It Feels So Good. It’s not a bad song, but Steven without Aerosmith just seems weird to me. Has Steven had some work done, because his face looks different. This song puts me in the mind of Jaded by Aerosmith, for some reason.
Back to the elimination! After the nationwide votes, Haley has been chosen as part of the top three! Who knew?!?? So now it’s down to Scotty and James! (Or no one?!)
Who’s going through to the next round?!?? SCOTTY!! James is going home!!! WOW! Talk about an upset!!!! Are you SHOCKED?!???
