It was Queen Night on American Idol and the top six really nailed some of the tracks. Last week we saw the elimination of fan favorite Colton Dixon, so no one is really safe from elimination. We’ve provided a. So who rocked it tonight?
Here’s a breakdown of who performed what on tonight’s show.
Jessica Sanchez kicked off the show with her rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody, followed by Skylar Laine’s version of The Show Must Go On. Joshua Ledet stunned the audience and judges with his Crazy Little Thing Called Love, with Elise Testone doing the best I Want It All she could do. Following that, our favorite Phillip Phillips wow’ed everyone with his Fat Bottomed Girls rendition. Bringing up the end of the first round was Hollie Cavanagh singing Save Me.
Kicking off round two was Jessica and her cover of Luther Vandross’ song, Dance With My Father. Afterward, Skylar performed Jason Aldean’s song, Tattoos On This Town. Joshua really brought it with Ready For Love by India.Arie, followed by Elise nailed the Jimi Hendrix obscure classic Bold As Love. Phillip performed The Stone by the Dave Matthews Band, while some said that was an obvious choice due to all of the comparisons between the two. Hollie once again brought up the end with her version of Miley Cyrus’ song The Climb.
Check out the video recap of each performance by our top six Idol competitors:
Our favorite parts of the night were Elise Testone’s performances and those of Phillip Phillips. We’ve heard many comparisons of Phil and Dave Matthews, but he did a great job tonight. Joshua Ledet and Jessica Sanchez were also great tonight, so we think tomorrow night’s elimination is going to be between Skylar Laine and Hollie Cavanagh — with Hollie saying goodbye.
