RECAP:

Tonight, ten of the ladies will perform and five of them will be cut. For a two hour show, we would guess that there is going to be a lot of fluff in between these performances. The

Performing tonight are Jenny Beth Willis, Tenna Torres, Adriana Latonio, Brandy Hotard, Shubha Vedula, Kamaria Ousley, Kree Harrison, Angela Miller, Isabelle and Amber Holcomb.

Up first is Jenny Beth Willis singing “Hello Mr. Heartache” by the Dixie Chicks. Ugh. This performance really sucked. Keith said it was a good way to start the show. Randy said she wasn’t in sync with the band. She has the potential, but it could spell trouble for her. Mariah said it was a very nice performance, but she could be more dynamic during the performances.

Tenna Torres is up next, singing “Soulmate” by Natasha Bedingfield. It’s kind of a painful performance. Keith said it’s a deceptively big song and he particularly liked the end. Nicki said she reminded her why she fell in love with her voice before. She chose a great song. She advised Tenna to get rid of the hair. Randy said, “This is the start of the night!” Mariah said this was “all you” and that she gave every bit of her emotion.

Adriana Latonio is next up singing her rendition of “Ain’t No Way” by Aretha Franklin. It’s not such a bad performance, but we’ve heard better. Keith, Randy and the audience were all standing. Keith said, “Now the night has started.” She channeled all of the emotions of the song. Nicki said she commands the stage from the second she walks out. Randy said this girl is born to do it. He called her a pro. Mariah said it was a big song and she loved how Adriana came through with her version of the song. “A+”

Up next is Brandy Hotard and she’s performing “Anymore” by Travis Tritt. What is up with those leopard print shoes? She’s singing with feeling! Keith said it works and her voice is really, really good. His only issue was that there was an emotional connection inconsistency. Nicki told Keith to stay out of her head. She wanted to know why Brandy was smiling while she was singing sad lyrics? Randy said the song didn’t tell him enough about the kind of artist she wants to be. Mariah said it didn’t bother her that she was smiling, but she has seen her more emotionally connected. She presented herself really well.

Shubha Vedula is up next and she’s performing “Born This Way” by Lady Gaga. We’re not feeling this performance and the audience didn’t really seem into it (like they were forced to clap). Keith said she crammed a lot into that song, it was confusing because there was so many things going on, but he loves her voice. Nicki said that there was so much going on and there was a comical thing there. It was almost as if it was a mashup of Christina Aguilera with the “Gangnam Style” guy. Randy said she has unbelievable potential and talent. He said she should’ve stayed at the piano. Mariah said she would’ve preferred the song if she stayed at the piano and it was less forced.

Kamaria Ousley is singing “Mr. Know It All” by Kelly Clarkson next. This song is off to an awful start and end. AWFUL. Keith said it wasn’t a great song for her and she didn’t find the emotional connection in the song. Nicki said she looked well put together tonight. She said the twang didn’t work. Randy said from the start of the song, it never caught on. He called it her worst performance ever and it wasn’t good. Mariah said she might’ve been struggling to hear herself. She thinks Kamaria is adorable and her smile lights up the room. Keep going and that she loved the ensemble.

Kree Harrison is up next and she’s singing “I Went Up To The Mountain” by Patty Griffin. Her voice is really nice for a country singer. Keith said she is a natural born singer and it’s beautiful to watch her sing. Nicki said she would be very afraid if she were any of the other girls up there tonight. She makes love to the song. Randy said she is a natural born singer and she doesn’t have to “wear the outfit” but she connected with the song. It was effortless. Mariah said it’s like she’s lost in the song and it’s a beautiful thing to watch. It’s incredibly organic and it was amazing.

Angela Miller is singing “Nobody’s Perfect” by Jessie J. It was a good performance. Keith said she has a huge talent and she has a beautiful voice. Nicki said she loves her and nothing is going to compare to her original performance. Randy said she can sing anything and he loved her interpretation of the lyric. Mariah said her potential is limitless and her original song was phenomenal.

Isabelle is up next, singing “God Bless The Child” by Billie Holiday. We’ve heard worse tonight and she’s not too shabby. Keith liked it. Nicki said “Eat your heart out boys, because you’re up there looking like a diva tonight.” Randy said she has a big voice and a huge talent, but it was a bit old fashioned for him. He felt like he was at a pageant for a second. Mariah said her vocal could’ve been over any song and her heart is selling her.

Singing last tonight is Amber Holcomb and she’s performing “You’re My Funny Valentine” by Frank Sinatra. It was a decent performance and we think she deserves another shot. The ending is much better than the beginning. Keith said she is making harder on everyone else. She has breath control and she’s making it look so easy. Nicki said that vocal was “A+++”, but will that inner shine will shine through the TV? Randy said she stood out like a shining diamond and it was very well done. Mariah said she knows how brilliant that performance was and she wanted to smack her (in a good way). It was incredible and she loved her interpretation of the song.

RESULTS:

Jenny Beth Willis has been CUT! Brandy Hotard has also been cut from the competition! Tenna Torres is up to learn her fate next and she’s staying in the competition. Next up to learn her fate is Kree Harrison and she’s getting through (of course!) Isabelle is up next and Keith informed her that she’s getting cut from the competition. Next up for the results is Angela Miller and Nicki informed her that she is getting through to the next round.

Next up to learn her fate is Kamaria and she’s not getting through to the next stage of the competition. Amber Holcomb is up next and Mariah has informed her that she is going through to the next round. Last up are Adriana and Shubha! Who’s getting through and who’s going home?! Shubha is getting sent home and Adriana is going through!

This “sudden death” round is not fair for the men or women. They should be competing against all 20 in each round. I will never watch the show again and from what I heard all day in the hospital I work at many others are done with the show too. They let unbelievable talent walk away, like shuba vedula. Unbelievable. So unfair.

American Idol or The Great American Freak Show?!
Look at u’r contestants & tell u’r viewers what the problem is with u’r judging. A ‘judge’ should, by virtue of the title, be UNBIASED… UNBELIEVABLE!!!!!
The way to ‘control’ the outcome of the show is to send the talent home, except for the ones YOU want to win. If you don’t want country music artists to win, you send home the ones capable of winning…RIGHT?
