Hollywood actress Angelina Jolie has said that she has one more surgery to take on in her bid to prevent cancer in her body. Last year, Jolie had a double mastectomy in order to prevent development of breast cancer. She carries the BRCA1 gene which gave her an 87 percent chance of developing cancerous cells in her breasts.
Now, she is expected to undergo a hysterectomy along with an oophorectomy, which will see her ovaries removed. Her odds of developing ovarian cancer are currently at 50 percent, but they will decrease if she undergoes the surgery as expected.
After undergoing her double mastectomy in secret and then revealing it to the world, Jolie said that she was overwhelmed with support from fans all over the world. She said in an interview, “I was very, very moved by all the support and kindness from so many people.”
