Academy Award winning actor Anthony Hopkins really loved Bryan Cranston’s role as Walter White in AMC’s hit show Breaking Bad. So much, in fact, that he went all fan-girl on the show’s star and sent him his very own fan letter. That is, after the Oscar winner binged on the show!
The letter was posted on Facebook by Bryan’s co-star Steven Michael Quezada, who played Agent Steven Gomez on the show. Anthony wrote, “I have never watched anything like it. Brilliant!”
He continued, “Your performance as Walter White was the best acting I have seen — ever… this work of yours is spectacular — absolutely stunning. From what started as a black comedy, descended into a labyrinth of blood, destruction and hell. It was like a great Jacobean, Shakesperian or Greek Tragedy.”
He added, “That kind of work/artistry is rare, and when, once in a while, it occurs, as in this epic work, it restores confidence. You and all the cast are the best actors I’ve ever seen.”
Well said! The show was so good that the Albuquerque Journal commemorated Walter White’s journey with an obituary in their paper. Even crazier, Walt’s meth cooking tighty whities received almost $10,000 from an auction.
Were you impressed with the show’s ending? Did you think they could have shown more? Perhaps they could have taken up Jeffrey Katzenberg’s idea for $75 million to make three more episodes of the show? What do you think? Share your thoughts with us in the comments section below!
