2012 American Idol Winner Announced: Phillip Phillips Or Jessica Sanchez (RECAP)
by Roberta Ferguson on May.23, 2012, under articles

It was a long road to get to the season finale for the remaining top two contenders on “American Idol”, but we’re sure Phillip Phillips and Jessica Sanchez are both excited to see what the future holds for them. If you’ve missed the performance finale last night, we’ve recapped it in detail here. Will your favorite be crowned the next “American Idol”?
Last night, the judges awarded the first two rounds to 16-year-old Chula Vista, California native Jessica. When it came to the winning coronation song, they weren’t so one-sided. Jessica sang a song called “Change Nothing”, of which received a lukewarm reception from the judges. Twenty-one-year-old Leesburg, Georgia native Phillip wow’ed the judges and the audience alike with his coronation song, “Home”.
We conducted a poll earlier today, asking fans who will win the “Idol” crown. As of this morning, the votes were tipped in Jessica’s favor with 52 percent. As of this writing, Jessica has tipped the votes even further with 56 percent, leaving Phillip with the remaining 44 percent. The poll was purely for entertainment purposes and does not reflect any actual votes that the competitors received.
Stay tuned for our live recap of the season 2012 finale of “American Idol”. In the meantime, weigh in with your thoughts on who is going to win this season!
Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt Don’t Know Their Wedding Date Yet
by Roberta Ferguson on May.22, 2012, under articles

When Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie announced that they were finally engaged, everybody and their mother wondered exactly when they were going to tie the knot. As it turns out, they don’t know the date they’re going to get married either. Perhaps if marriage equality becomes legal in this country, then it could be right after that.
on Tuesday, Brad spoke with reporters at a press conference at the Cannes Film Festival and said they were “still hoping we figure out marriage equality in the States before that date.”
Brad is currently at the film festival screening his movie, “Killing Them Softly”. In the political themed movie, he plays a hit man. The “L.A. Times” reports:
The Times’ sister paper, the Chicago Tribune, says the film has a “slippery black-comic tone” and makes “blunt metaphoric use” of footage from the 2008 presidential campaign.
As The Times reported Tuesday morning, empty campaign promises — including plenty from President Obama — play underneath much of the action in the movie, set to be released in September.
But Pitt, according to the Associated Press, doesn’t want “Killing Them Softly” to be read as his views or to be used as fodder in the 2012 election.
Do you want to see a Jolie-Pitt wedding this year? Would you see a flick starring Brad as a hit man? Hit the comments and let us know your thoughts!

Mad Men Review: Christmas Waltz
by Roberta Ferguson on May.21, 2012, under articles

On AMC last night was an all new episode of the hit show “Mad Men”, titled “Christmas Waltz”. We recapped the show live at this link, but here, we will break down for you what happened in the episode.
Lane Pryce is obviously having issues with the tax man back in England and therefore has to come up with $8,000 in two days or likely face jail time. Instead of asking the senior partners for help with his situation, he asks the bank for a line of credit for $50,000 and then concocts a story about Christmas bonuses. He then forges Don Draper’s name on a check, counting on the bonus as his way out. He’s now guilty of forgery and embezzling, but his plan fails as the senior partners agree to forgo bonuses until the beginning of the year. Lane is left thinking about what he’s done as the rest of the office rejoices about their bonuses.
Don Draper and Joan Harris get their flirt on at a swanky Midtown bar after Joan nearly takes the receptionist’s head off for allowing a process server in to serve her with divorce papers. Prior to the bar, Don takes her to test drive a fancy Jaguar. In true Don Draper style, he drives the car and parks it in front of the bar after giving the salesman a check for $6,000 in case they don’t come back with the ride.
Don and Joan show their flirty side with each other in the bar. All he needs is a fancy fedora, some drinks and he’s Dapper Don once again. This time is different however, as he is not the bed hopping Don that he once was. Still, she wonders why he has never sent her flowers at the office. The answer is simple, according to Don. He was afraid of her and was told never to cross her. Does he know what he wants? Joan says yes, but he’s married to Megan — whose only sin is having become familiar.
Speaking of Megan, she’s livid at Don for not calling to tell her that he would be gone all day. She made dinner and is upset that he didn’t give her a second thought after leaving work to test drive the Jaguar and spending half the day with Joan. He didn’t seem to want to go home, so after leaving Joan with some car fare, he drove around in the Jag some more.
Roger Sterling has been trying to take responsibility for his son with Joan, Kevin. He’s been sending her payments to help take care of Kevin, but she won’t accept his money. In the end, he brings her flowers from another man — from Don.

Sponsored Post: Style And Celebrity Inspiration: Angelina Jolie
by Roberta Ferguson on May.03, 2012, under articles

When asked to write about a specific celebrity that I admire and turn to for style and beauty inspiration, I chose Angelina Jolie. Angelina has a classic, chic and casual style that I’ve always admired. She always dresses the best for any possible occasion and comes off looking like a goddess of glamor without appearing as if she spent four hours doing it with a team of stylists and makeup artists. She’s classy and stylish and always looks put together for any occasion, whether it be for the red carpet or taking her children to get ice cream.
I’ve chosen Angelina because she’s a mother of six children, which are time consuming – as any parent knows. So to be able to pull off her style the way she does and still manage a household of eight people, it’s a true inspiration for any working mother. Her makeup always looks flawless, simple and accentuates her best features. She never has an off night when it comes to her appearance, style and grace. For those reasons, we admire Angelina.

She is philanthropic and hardworking and her style is elegant and classical. She wears the classic and beautiful black dresses, along with oversized shades and the trench coat that just completes the look. It’s done up without being overdone and it’s the epitome of sophistication. For those reasons, many fans in the fashion world love the style and class that Angelina Jolie exudes, and that is why I have chosen her as my style and beauty inspiration.
We think its tremendous popularity is proof that the 2012 Corolla offers the ideal blend of comfort, value and safety. In it, you’ll find a surprising number of high-end features, like available Display Audio system. It offers remarkable performance and fuel efficiency, plus an impressive list of standard safety features. Factor in its legendary reliability, and it’s even more apparent that Corolla is the smart choice.

Ashton Kutcher Earning $725,000 Per Episode For ‘Two And A Half Men’
by Roberta Ferguson on May.02, 2012, under articles

Ashton Kutcher has just signed on for the tenth season of “Two And A Half Men” and his paycheck is continuing to grow. According to Hollywood.com, Kutcher will earn $725,000 per episode. That makes an extra $25,000 he will be earning as opposed to the ninth season of the show.
Kutcher took the reins on the show after CBS and Warner Brothers fired his predecessor, Charlie Sheen. After the show effectively killed off Sheen’s character, Kutcher came in for the ninth season as billionaire with a broken heart, Walden Schmidt.
Kutcher’s “Men” co-star Jon Cryer is reportedly expecting to earn an amount within the same ballpark, while Angus T. Jones is reportedly raking in $300,000 per episode.
The show’s ratings have dropped significantly when Kutcher replaced Sheen, but the network is also not paying it’s main star as much as his predecessor. Are you a “Two And A Half Men” fan? Do you still watch with Ashton Kutcher or would you have preferred for the network to make nice with Charlie Sheen?
Khloe Kardashian Is Fighting For Her Marriage To Lamar Odom
by Roberta Ferguson on May.02, 2012, under articles

Reality TV star Khloe Kardashian appears on the latest covers of “Reality Weekly” and “People” magazines with the titles that she’s defending or fighting for her marriage to NBA player Lamar Odom.
“Reality Weekly” magazine (as seen above) talks about the infidelity, family fights and their future. The tabloid also takes us inside Khloe’s plans to have a baby. “People” magazine talks about how divorce is not an option for the reality actress. As far as the decision to step away from reality TV in their shared TV show, “Khloe & Lamar”, Khloe reveals that it was just a decision she made to support her husband.

In her “People” interview, Khloe said, “We just wanted to prioritize a little. We just wanted a little pause. Part of being married is knowing when your husband needs your support. I’m a modern girl, but you should put your husband first. I like to think divorce is not an option.”
Mel Gibson Talks Openly About His Temper To Jay Leno
by Roberta Ferguson on Apr.30, 2012, under articles

It has never been a secret that Mel Gibson has an anger management problem, but he appeared on “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” on Friday to discuss his ongoing feud with screenwriter Joe Eszterhas. Since the scandal first broke, Mel has kept mum on the subject of his temper, but he joked with the talk show host, “Maybe you don’t know this about me, but I’ve got a little bit of a temper.”
Gibson revealed that he was upset that his former pal recorded his tirade during a vacation at his Costa Rican home. Eszterhas released the rant, of which his son recorded using his iPhone. This followed Eszterhas reprimanding the actor for his behavior in front of his son. Previously, Eszterhas wrote a letter criticizing Gibson for being an anti-Semite. Gibson retorted by claiming that Eszterhas was just upset that Warner Brothers turned down his Maccabees script.
Gibson told the talk show host, “Has it really come to the place where you can’t blow off steam in your own home, even if you’re justified? If he put half as much time and effort and creativity and imagination into a screenplay, which he was supposed to write, as he did into that letter, we wouldn’t be having this conversation… It’s kind of like you build a house, you hire a guy to put a roof on it, he comes over and eats lunch and talks about the roof, and then you get rained on all night. Wouldn’t you be kind of peeved?”
Elise Testone: After Her American Idol Elimination (Video)
by Roberta Ferguson on Apr.27, 2012, under articles

Last night on the elimination episode of American Idol, one of our favorites, Elise Testone was eliminated from the competition. For her ending performance, she took on the Led Zeppelin song Whole Lotta Love, which once saved her from being voted off of the show. In case you’ve missed the show, you can read our full recap here.
After her performance, the cameras kept rolling when the judges took the stage to offer some words of advice to the singer. WATCH THE VIDEO:
We certainly think she will do well in the entertainment business, as she has such a unique voice. What do you think? Did America get it wrong last night? Who did you think deserved to go? Hit the comments with your thoughts!
Elise Testone Performs ‘Bold As Love’ On American Idol – Video
by Roberta Ferguson on Apr.25, 2012, under articles

Tonight’s theme on American Idol is Queen Week and we will see the top six competitors take on two songs. One of which, of course, is a Queen track, while the other is from a song of their choosing. Last week, we said goodbye to Colton Dixon on the show and the competition is heating up.
We are recapping the show LIVE at this link, so check out the results as they happen!
Left in the competition are Phillip Phillips, Joshua Ledet, Hollie Cavanagh, Jessica Sanchez, Skylar Laine and Elise Testone. There are no more saves, so the contestants really has to bring it to avoid elimination.
On tonight’s show, Elise Testone is performing her second song of the night, Bold As Love by Jimi Hendrix.
WATCH THE VIDEO:
Our commentary:
A great song that showcases her singing ability. Kudos!
Judge’s commentary:
Steven: He loves the Janis Joplin about her and he touched his heart with the Jimi Hendrix song. She’s got to sing a familiar song, but he loved it.
Jennifer: She feels that Elise slayed that song so hard that it doesn’t even matter. Her interpretation is getting better. She’s one of the best singers in this competition.
Randy: For him, it wasn’t the right song at this time in the competition. Hendrix sang about a 25th of the song. He felt she was boxing with the song. It was so much information, but maybe if it were sung more simple, more people would’ve gotten it.
What did you think of Elise’s performance tonight? Do you think he has what it takes to be the next American Idol? Was this your favorite performance of the evening? Hit the comments with your thoughts!

WATCH THE VIDEO:
Our commentary:
Not a bad rendition of the song. This is more of her type of song to sing. Loving her glittery eyeshadow. Not bad at all. Definitely a better song than the Queen murdering she did earlier.
Judge’s commentary:
Jennifer: That may have been the best she’s heard that song sang. The tenderness and feeling and her vocal ability — it was the most beautiful she’s ever heard it.
Steven: He doesn’t think she can sing a song bad. Her voice is so much different than anyone else’s. It’s been a joy to watch her perform.
Randy: He’s amazed at the talent this year and they are all ready to jump on the charts. Jessica is truly amazing to him. She has the feeling in there and she’s making that connection. Congratulations.

Now onto this week. We’ve got the list of songs that the Idol competitors will be singing tonight. Without further ado:

Who do you think is going to sing which song? We’re hoping that our favorite contestant Phillip Phillips tackles A Change Is Gonna Come by Sam Cooke. He would be perfect for that song, don’t you think? We can also picture Elise Testone tackling some Dusty Springfield, because that song is right up her alley. Also, we can see Joshua Ledet doing well with Try A Little Tenderness by Otis Redding.
What do you think? Stay tuned for our live recap of the show tonight! We’ll be watching with you!

Robert Pattinson & Kristen Stewart Banned From Non-Twilight Red Carpets Together
by Roberta Ferguson on Apr.17, 2012, under articles

Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart apparently have it in their Twilight contracts stating that they are not allowed to appear on any red carpets together unless it has something to do with the vampire franchise. Talk about control freaks!
That would explain why Rob was alone at the premiere of Paul McCartney’s video, My Valentine, last week in L.A. A source said, “One [reason Robert was on his own] was he didn’t want to make it the Kristen and Rob show and take away from the actual event. They also have a clause in their Twilight contracts that they can only appear together at a Twilight themed red carpet together. Twilight kind of owns some of their appearances they do together until Breaking Dawn: Part 2 is one hundred percent completed.”
Castle Preview: ‘Headhunters’ 4/16/12
by Roberta Ferguson on Apr.16, 2012, under articles

Tonight is an all new episode of Castle on ABC at 10PM EST, titled Headhunters. This episode will see Nathan Fillion’s character, Rick Castle, joined by his former Firefly castmate Adam Baldwin — who plays Detective Ethan Slaughter.
In tonight’s episode, Rick joins a cop [Ethan] from New York’s gang unit. Apparently, Rick is moving further and further away from Kate after learning that she remembered everything about her shooting. At the time, he didn’t want to lose her and he professed his love for her.
Since, Kate has been talking to Lanie about how to finally open up to Rick about her feelings for him. Just as she was going to talk to him, Rick pulls up with a blonde in his car.
Check out the official synopsis of tonight’s show:
With tensions rising between Castle and Beckett, Castle finds himself a new partner — Detective Ethan Slaughter, a tough and colorful cop from the city’s gang unit. But Castle gets more than he bargained for when Slaughter shows him a grittier side of police work that puts Castle in the line of fire like never before.
I wish Kate would just tell Rick how she feels about him already. Are they going to drag this out more than it needs to be? Are we going to have to wait until the show’s fifth season to see some real sparks between Rick and Kate?
Axl Rose Declines Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame Induction – Full Letter
by Roberta Ferguson on Apr.12, 2012, under articles

Guns N’ Roses frontman Axl Rose has opted to turn down an invitation to be a part of the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony. He was nominated for induction along with his former GNR bandmates, but is declining the invitation. He doesn’t want to be inducted “in absentia” and doesn’t want anyone accepting the honor on his behalf.
He sent a letter to the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame along with fans of the band. We’ve got the full letter below for your perusal.
To: The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame, Guns N’ Roses Fans and Whom It May Concern,
When the nominations for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame were first announced I had mixed emotions but, in an effort to be positive, wanting to make the most of things for the fans and with their enthusiasm, I was honored, excited and hoped that somehow this would be a good thing. Of course I realized as things stood, if Guns N’ Roses were to be inducted it’d be somewhat of a complicated or awkward situation.
Since then we’ve listened to fans, talked with members of the board of the Hall Of Fame, communicated with and read various public comments and jabs from former members of Guns N’ Roses, had discussions with the president of the Hall Of Fame, read various press (some legit, some contrived) and read other artists’ comments weighing in publicly on Guns and the Hall with their thoughts. American Idol 2012 Recap: Season 11 Top 7 Performance Episode 4/11/12
by Roberta Ferguson on Apr.11, 2012, under articles

Tonight is an all new episode of Fox’s hit show American Idol and we will get to see the top seven competitors take on modern songs from this decade. Last week, we saw the departure of DeAndre Brackensick, after being put in the bottom two alongside Elise Testone. After performing for the judges in a last ditch effort to get them to use their only save for the season, it was determined that DeAndre would be sent on his way. Jennifer Lopez joked that she can’t save him with just one vote. In case you’ve missed the show, you can read our full episode recap here.
Nigel Lythgoe has already spoiled some of the song choices tonight on his official Twitter page. He tweeted the news that a Gotye song would be a song choice for a duet this week. In addition, he commented that they would be doing two tracks from former American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson.
Tonight’s mentor is Akon, so it’s possible that we’ll be hearing one of his tracks. I hope that the two Kelly Clarkson songs are Since U Been Gone and Because Of You.
What modern tracks would you like to see the remaining Idol hopefuls take on tonight? Also, here’s a list of who’s left in the competition:

Adam Levine Flattered By Jennifer Love Hewitt’s Crush
by Roberta Ferguson on Apr.11, 2012, under articles

Last week, Jennifer Love Hewitt revealed her celebrity crush — Adam Levine. Since, there was radio silence from The Voice judge. Until now, that is.
Jennifer appeared on Ellen DeGeneres’ TV show where she said that Adam is hot and newly single. She held up a picture of him and said that they would be cute together.
Access Hollywood talked to Adam after Tuesday’s episode of The Voice where he spoke about Jennifer’s suggestion that they would make a cute couple. He said, “It’s very, very flattering. It’s very flattering and very sweet and it was lovely to hear. But I’m not going to let it get to my head.”
Interesting. So he’s flattered by her, but obviously isn’t interested. He has just gotten dumped by his girlfriend of two years, Anne Vyalitsyna, so perhaps he’s not ready to dive back into anything with someone? Is the timing all wrong for a Jennifer Love Hewitt and Adam Levine pairing? Possibly. Perhaps he just needs time to heal after his breakup?
After revealing her crush to Ellen, Jennifer went on a Texas radio show and talked some more about it. She told the show’s host, “Everybody is talking about it and Adam Levine will probably never speak to me. I feel like I should write him an apology letter on Twitter or something just to say I’m so sorry.”
Perhaps he’s not ready to jump into a relationship with someone who has three pre-selected wedding rings and would have their children named before breakfast? Just a thought.

American Idol 2012 Recap: Season 11 ‘Top 8 Results Show’ 4/5/12
by Roberta Ferguson on Apr.05, 2012, under articles

On an all new elimination episode of American Idol, the top eight contenders will be dwindled down to seven. On last night’s performance episode of the show, we saw the remaining contestants give their take on some classics from the Eighties. If you’ve missed the show, you can catch our full, detailed recap of the entire episode right here.
We will bid adieu to another competitor tonight, but who is going to be? On last night’s performance episode, the contestants were mentored by No Doubt’s Gwen Stefani and bassist Tony Kanal.
A few of the competitors really soared in the competition last night with their 80′s renditions. Others, such as DeAndre Brackensick, Hollie Cavanagh and Elise Testone may have to worry. Although, it’s still early and the judges can still use their save of the season if they don’t like the show’s results.
Ultimately, we think that Phillip Phillips, Jessica Sanchez, Colton Dixon and Skylar Laine have nothing to worry about. We’re on the fence about Joshua Ledet, so only time will tell if America enjoyed his rendition of If You Don’t Know Me By Now by Simply Red.
We will be live-blogging tonight’s Results Show with all of our up-to-the-minute details at 8PM EST — so be sure to check back for updates often! It’s the only recap that you’re going to need!
Phillip Phillips – American Idol ‘That’s All’ Performance Video
by Roberta Ferguson on Apr.04, 2012, under articles

Tonight on American Idol, fan favorite Phillip Phillips took on Genesis’ mega-hit That’s All for eighties night. If you’re just tuning in and have missed any part of the show, we’re recapping it live here.
You can watch the full video, below:
Tony Kanal from No Doubt gave Phil some good advice in giving the guitar a break while he was singing the bridge of the song. Tony advised him that it would give him a chance to look at the camera or focus on the audience so that he could make a connection.
It doesn’t matter what Phillip sings, it’s always going to rock. I hope he sings Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around in the duets portion of the show.
What did you think of Phillip’s performance tonight? Was it your favorite so far? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
Update: Ryan just announced that Phillip and Elise will be taking on Tom Petty and Stevie Nicks’ hit song, Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around. I cannot wait!
