On tonight’s performance episode of “The X Factor”, Britney Spears’ protege Carly Rose Sonenclar is taking on her first performance of the evening. She is giving her rendition of “Imagine” by John Lennon. In case you’re missing all of the happenings on the show, we are providing our fully detailed live recap here.

We already know how Britney feels about the younger version of herself, so we are hoping that she really brings it tonight with her performances. In case you are just tuning in to the show, in addition to Carly Rose, remaining in the competition are Fifth Harmony, Emblem3 and Tate Stevens. Which of these acts do you think has the “X” factor?

Our commentary:

Carly Rose is on the piano and she is totally nailing this song. She definitely has the voice to be in the finals and could quite possibly win the entire show. This song was a definite risk, but when she belted out that big note in the middle, she sealed in her fate as a finalist. She really does look the part of a recording artist. Kudos to her for having so much talent.

Judges’ commentary:

L.A. Reid said he loved that she took her artistic credibility up a notch with the piano. She always knows how to go in and find that note. Demi Lovato said that the only predictable thing about that performance was that it was amazing. Simon Cowell said he would’ve kept her at the piano because there were about five things going on. He didn’t like the arrangement and felt it was over complicated. Britney Spears said she disagreed and that it’s time for her to go beyond this stage and compete with some of the biggest stars in the world.
