We’ve been loosely following the trial of Casey Anthony, in which she is accused of murdering her two-year-old daughter Caylee.
We’ve learned that the prosecution has called “Body Farm” expert and forensic scientist, Arpad Vass to testify. He relayed how he opened a cannister of air from Casey’s trunk, saying that he “jumped back a foot or two.” He added, “It was shocking that strong of an odor could be in that little can.”
According to People, Arpad is a senior research scientist at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Tennesse, along with being a researcher at the Body Farm at the University of Tennessee.
Several witnesses have already testified to the distinctive odor found in the trunk of Casey’s car. When the prosecutor asked Arpad if he believed that the trunk had housed a body, he said, “I can find no other plausible explanation to explain all the results that we found.”
