Unsurprisingly, rapper Chris Brown has checked himself into rehab because of all of his legal issues of late. It’s lovely how celebrities feel that rehab is a cure-all for all of their problems, isn’t it?
His rep said in a statement, “Chris Brown has elected to enter a rehab facility. His goal is to gain focus and insight into his past and recent behavior, enabling him to continue the pursuit of his life and his career from a healthier vantage point.”
The Grammy-winning R&B singer, 24, and his bodyguard Christopher Hollosy were released without bail from a Washington, D.C., jail Monday after a felony assault charge was reduced to a misdemeanor.
They had been arrested early Sunday morning following an altercation with another man outside the W Hotel. The man was treated at the hospital and released. Brown’s attorney denied the singer committed a crime.
Rehab is a place for those dealing with their demons… ie: drugs or alcohol. It’s not a place for those looking to duck responsibility for crimes that they have committed. We’re looking at more celebrities than just Chris Brown with that statement. Take Lindsay Lohan, for instance. Celebs find that checking themselves into rehab must alleviate all of their responsibilities with regard to their criminal behavior. Ugh. So self-important, no?
