Dancing With The Stars Recap: Season 15 Winner Announced 11/27/12

It’s the season finale episode of “Dancing With The Stars” tonight! Are you excited?!? We sure are. We’ve seen some pretty excellent dancing skills on last night’s performance episode of the show. Tonight, we will get to see who, out of Shawn Johnson, Kelly Monaco and Melissa Rycroft, walks away triumphantly with the coveted Mirror Ball Trophy.

Each of the three remaining competitors really brought it with their Freestyle and favorite dances, showing all of us that they deserve to be in the final three. On tonight’s show, only one can emerge victorious as the winner of the fifteenth (and only All-Stars) season. Who will it be?

Earlier today, Earsucker.com conducted a poll asking our readers who they thought would be the winner. Without further ado, the results: 53% of the vote went to Shawn Johnson and her partner Derek Hough, while Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani came in second with 42% of the vote, leaving Kelly Monaco and her partner Val Chmerkovskiy in third place with 5%.

It promises to be an event-filled evening tonight as we recap the show LIVE. Keep refreshing the page as we will tell you FIRST who is going to be crowned the 2012 Mirror Ball champion of season 15 of “Dancing With The Stars”! The show airs from 9-11PM EST, so stay tuned for the LIVE RECAP!

The show kicks off with an amazing performance from this season’s competitors. Nice!

Now the judges have decided to see Shawn and Derek’s freestyle dance along with the fierce five. What a great performance. Afterward we go to Dance Center for the play-by-play on some of the performances this season.

Now, Tom will let the competitors choose their performance and dance style for tonight’s Instant Dance. Kelly and Val chose the cat & mouse Jive. Next up, Melissa and Tony chose the “Life Is A Highway” Samba, leaving Shawn and Derek with the Cha Cha to “Respect”.

Bristol Palin and Mark Ballas are up on stage now to scoot around the ballroom floor. She’s still a lifeless stick. Pamela Anderson and Tristan MacManus just took to the stage for a saucy number. Yum (Tristan!) Up next on the floor are Helio Castroneves and Chelsie Hightower, performing a spicy Latin number.

Drew Lachey is bringing his daughter to the dance floor along with Anna Trebunskaya. She’s so cute. What an adorable dance! And now it’s time for the backstage confessions. Too funny. It’s time for the “Gangnam Style” team dance. Love this song and performance. Maks and Gilles totally made that dance. Hot!

Joey Fatone and Kym Johnson are up next on the floor after their cute time traveling skit. They were joined on the floor by their “younger” selves….too cute. Sabrina Bryan and Louis Van Amstel are up next with their sensual number. It’s time for the “Call Me Maybe” dance team… It’s time for Dance Center again!

Kirstie Alley and Maksim Chmerkovskiy are bringing it on the dance floor now, followed by Gilles Marini and Peta Murgatroyd doing their Bollywood routine. Apolo Anton Ohno and Karina Smirnoff are taking the ballroom floor now to perform their Rumba. Emmitt Smith and Cheryl Burke are on the floor now performing their dance to “Chain Of Fools”.

Up first for their Instant Dance are Kelly and Val are doing their Jive. Great dance and it was made even better by Val taking his shirt off. Len said she’s clean and crisp and her spins are fantastic. She nailed the footwork — well done. Bruno said they have the energy of two younger rabbits. The effect was magnificent. Carrie Ann said they were fantastic and they’ve won the hearts of the audience. Scores: 9.5-9.5-9.5 = 28.5 — Grand Total: 87.5/90

Melissa and Tony are up next doing the Samba. We think they had the advantage with this dance, even though the music has been changed up. Bruno said she’s turning into a South American siren. These dances are a nightmare to pull off and they did such a great job. Carrie Ann said she rushed the music a hair, but they have had an amazing season. Len said the interpretation wasn’t the same as it was last night, but she was his favorite to watch. Scores: 9.5-9.5-9.5 = 28.5 — Grand Total: 88.5/90

Last on the ballroom floor are Shawn and Derek doing their Cha Cha. It’s super fast and cute. Carrie Ann said she started out the season as a star and it was a good way to end the season with that star studded dance. Len said Derek has thrown some fantastic choreography at her and that was fantastic. Bruno said they are going out with a bang and that was perfection. Scores: 10-10-10 = 30 — Grand Total: 87/90

Getting eliminated first and in third place on this season of “Dancing With The Stars” are KELLY MONACO & VAL CHMERKOVSKIY!

Second place goes to SHAWN JOHNSON & DEREK HOUGH, leaving the winner of the All-Stars season of “DWTS” as MELISSA RYCROFT & TONY DOVOLANI!!!

What do you think of the winner of the coveted mirror ball trophy?
