On last week’s episode of Dancing With The Stars, the show claimed its first victim by sending Ron Artest AKA Metta World Peace, along with his professional dancer partner, Peta Murgatroyd, home. In case you’ve missed the season premiere episode, you can read our official recap of the show here.
Stay tuned for our recap of the dances tonight — LIVE!
Hope Solo and Maksim Chmerkovskiy are dancing first, doing the Jive. They’re doing a really cute, fast Jive and they look like they’re having a great time. Is he coaching her on the dance floor? Interesting. Len said it was crisp and charming, but she lost her timing a little bit. Bruno said she has to precise, but she lost it so many times. Carrie Ann said she thought it was a great performance, but there were a few mess ups. Score: 6+7+6 = Total: 19/30
Dancing next are Kristin Cavallari and Mark Ballas, doing the Quick Step. Their dance is happy, lively and well done. Bruno said she had beautiful energy, but got too excited and missed it. Carrie Ann said “Last week nervous, this week stunning!” Len said she looks fantastic, but it wasn’t as good as she looked. He said she broke hold a couple of times, however, overall it was a great improvement over last week. Score: 8+7+7 = Total: 22/30
David Arquette and Kym Johnson are up next, doing the Jive. It is a cute and fast dance, definitely better than last week’s. Carrie Ann said it had incredible enthusiasm and he let it all hang out. Len said the technique wasn’t there, but he liked the enthusiasm that he came out with. Bruno said he didn’t hold back, he was like a runaway train and lost some timing. Score: 6+6+6 = Total: 18/30
Dancing next are Elisabetta Canalis and Val Chmerkovskiy, doing the Quick Step. It’s a little better than last week (which isn’t saying much), but it seems boring for the type of dance. Len said it’s not right, but it’s better than last week. Bruno said the gears were grinding and the pistons were pumping. Carrie Ann said she overcame and made a comeback this week. Score: 7+7+7 = Total: 21/30
Rob Kardashian and Cheryl Burke are up next, dancing the Jive. Len’s going to hate the prop! At least this week, he looks like he’s having a good time, even though he’s a bit stiff. Bruno loved it and said it was a great improvement. Carrie Ann said Rob is a better dancer than his sister, Kim. Len said it was a proper performance and a great improvement. Nothing about the surfboard? Score: 7+7+7 = Total: 21/30
Dancing next are Carson Kressley and Anna Trebunskaya, doing the Quick Step. For a Quick Step, this dance seems sort of slower and calculated. I am not impressed. Carrie Ann said she saw improvement, but he was wobbly. Len said if he held a knife and fork like Carson held Anna, he’d starve to death. Bruno said we had Pee Wee Herman goes to the prom. He said they could see he put in all of the hard work, but as entertainment, it was great. Score: 6+6+6 = Total: 18/30
Up next are Ricki Lake and Derek Hough, doing the Jive. I can’t say that I was a fan of this dance, but the crowd seems to have enjoyed it. Len said he didn’t like it, but he liked the fun of it. Bruno said that she got the kicks and flicks correctly. Carrie Ann said best Jive of the night so far. Score: 8+7+8 = Total: 23/30
Chaz Bono and Lacey Schwimmer are doing the Quick Step next. Slow and boring, like he didn’t know what was going on. But he was wearing a pasted on smile. Terrible. Bruno said the Quick Step has to be fast. Carrie Ann said he handled the pain well and it can’t cover the fact that he didn’t dance quickly. Len said he got through it, however, it is a Quick Step and he moves faster through the car wash. Score: 6+5+6 = Total: 17/30
Chynna Phillips and Tony Dovolani are up next, doing the Jive. It’s a cute dance and another good performance by Chynna. Carrie Ann said she enjoyed watching her dance. She said that Chynna played it a little safe and thought she was injured. Len said it was good, but it wasn’t great really and it needed more excitement. Bruno said the sexy siren in her is trying to come out and she can’t hold it back. Score: 7+7+7 = Total: 21/30
Doing the Quick Step next are Nancy Grace and Tristan MacManus. She’s stiff and completely out of her element. It’s slow and boring! Did she fall?!? They cut to the crowd?!? Did she flash boob? (UPDATE: SHE DID!) What was that?!? (The crowd wasn’t clapping or anything, either.) Len said she broke the rules of the dance with this dance and it was a proper Quick Step. Bruno said she was vivacious, alive and confident. Carrie Ann said she saw improvement and they managed the hold very well. WTF were they watching?!? Score: 6+8+7 = Total: 21/30
Dancing last are J.R. Martinez and Karina Smirnoff, doing the Jive. This is the best dance of the night. It’s cute and they’re in step with each other all of the way. They’re having a blast, too. Well done. Bruno said he was charismatic, athletic and had a feel for the music. Carrie Ann said it was great, but there was a lift, so she has to take off a point. Len said it was a great dance, but it wasn’t a Jive. Score: 7+7+8 = Total 22/30
