It was recently reported that the members of Def Leppard were planning a lawsuit against the members of the boy band One Direction over the similarities between Pour Some Sugar On Me and 1D’s hit Midnight Memories. Despite those reports, Vivian Campbell and Phil Collen of Def Leppard are setting the record straight that there is no lawsuit in the works.

And Pour Some Sugar On Me:
In a new interview with Billboard.com, Vivian said, “The One Direction one is very similar in structure, but it’s all good. The chords are one-four-five. Those are the blues. You don’t get more basic than that. I think what’s more reminiscent of the Leppard thing is the production, the sound, the vocals, the reverb and the way it’s assembled.”
He added, “That is very flattering that all of a sudden these kids think it’s a cool sound. I think a lot of people of their generation aren’t going to connect their music to ours.”
And who could compare their music to Def Leppard? Really, Def Leppard blows a lot of acts right out of the water with regard to the production and sound. Thoughts?
