Emblem3 Performs 'Hey Jude' On The X Factor (Video)

Taking on their second performance of the evening is Simon Cowell’s group Emblem3. They are performing “Hey Jude” by The Beatles. In case you’re missing all of the happenings on the show, we are providing our fully detailed live recap here.

Left in the competition are Emblem3, Carly Rose Sonenclar, Fifth Harmony and Tate Stevens. Who has been your favorite act so far? Who are you rooting for out of the top four competitors?

Our commentary:

It started off slow and nice with the audience going crazy. Anything by The Beatles is risky, but so far so good with this one. They livened it up a bit toward the end and went into the audience again to command the crowd. The camera shots feel like a concert. This is definitely not a song that they would actually record, so we’re not sure how we feel about it.

Judges’ commentary:

L.A. Reid said he was prepared to rip them to shreds because of the song choice, but they are actually teen heartthrobs like The Beatles. Britney Spears said it was an A level performance and they can take a bow. Demi Lovato said they can’t be compared to The Beatles, but they have the potential considering their fan base. Simon Cowell said he feels so proud of what they have achieved tonight. They came into the competition with steel in their eyes and they nailed both performances.
