In a new interview, Eminem is opening up once again about his ordeal with prescription drug abuse. He has admitted to taking Xanax and Valium and revealed that his habit was headed toward his death.
He said, “People tried to tell me I had a problem. I would say, ‘Get that f***ing person outta here. I’m not out there shooting heroin. I’m not f***ing out there putting coke up my nose. I’m not smoking crack.'”
For his documentary How To Make Money Selling Drugs, he spoke to Matthew Cooke about how his drug addiction almost claimed his life. He said, “My organs were shutting down. My liver, kidneys, everything. They were gonna have to put me on dialysis. They didn’t think I was gonna make it. My bottom was gonna be my death.”
He added, “I just couldn’t believe that anybody could be naturally happy or naturally function or be just enjoying life in general without being on something. So I would say to anybody, ‘It does get better.'”
Kudos to him for overcoming his demons and getting his life back on track and in order. We’re sure his daughter is thankful, as well. What we are looking forward to hearing next is about some possible new music. What about you?
