The ‘Hitman’ video game series has been rebooted with ‘Hitman: Agent 47.’ The original Hitman movie debuted in 2007 starring Timothy Olyphant, but it was a huge box office flop, grossing just $39 million domestically.
This time around 20th Century Fox has brought in Rupert Friend, Zachary Quinto, Hannah Ware, and Thomas Kretschmann to power the film for a second go around.
Hitman: Agent 47 following an assassin who teams up with a woman to help her find her father and uncover the mysteries of her ancestry.
The movie marks the big picture directorial debut for Aleksander Bach and is expected to be released in March 2015 in the UK and August 28 domestically.
The movie was promoted at Comic-Con San Diego but this official trailer is the first real look we have been able to acquire.
There are definitely plenty of explosions and what appears to be some great dialog. Here’s to hoping that Hitman: Agent 47 can pick up the slack left behind by the original video game adaptation.
