Jennifer Aniston is featured on the cover of the latest issue of “In Touch Weekly” and according to the cover, her baby dreams have been shattered. Oh the horror! Or at least it would be if Aniston had ever planned on having children in her life.
The timing on this cover is actually pretty funny, because it directly coincides with an interview that she gave about her value as a woman being tied to her not birthing children. Aniston has been on countless magazine covers with the same stories: she’s either upset at not being able to have children or she’s adopting, giving birth, having twins or miscarrying. Obviously none of these covers have any foundation in truth — otherwise she would’ve had fifteen kids by now.
Aniston spoke with Carson Daly on “Today” yesterday about a previous quote she gave on the topic of womanhood. She previously said, “Being a woman, your value and worth is associated with your marital status or whether or not you’ve procreated.”
Expanding on that, Aniston told Daly, “I don’t have this sort of checklist of things that have to be done, and…if they’re not checked, then I’ve failed some part of my feminism or my being a woman or my worth and my value as a woman because I haven’t birthed a child.”
She added, “I’ve birthed a lot of things. I feel like I’ve mothered many things and I don’t think it’s fair to put that pressure on people.”
