Jennifer Lopez wants her fans to know that she really did come from humble beginnings. The Louboutins singer revealed that she was homeless as a teenager and was sleeping on a couch in her dance studio before she got her big break in the entertainment business.
When she was 18-years-old, she said that she got into an argument with her mother over her choice in careers and then moved out. Her break came when she appeared on In Living Color after she was inspired to stay strong and follow her dreams.
She said in W magazine, “My mom and I butted heads. I didn’t want to go to college, I wanted to try dance full-time. So she and I had a break. I started sleeping on the sofa in the dance studio. I was homeless, but I told her, ‘This is what I have to do.'”
She continued, “A few months later, I landed a job dancing in Europe. When I got back, I booked In Living Color. I became a Fly Girl and moved to L.A. It all happened in a year.”
