Jeweler sold Lindsay Lohan surveillance tape for $35,000

Kamofie & Company has sold the surveillance video of Lindsay Lohan allegedly making off with a necklace worth $2,500. This move may have really screwed up the prosecutor, Danette Meyers’ case against the rehabbed actress.

According to reports, the jeweler was working hard for the last few days in an attempt to cash in on the footage.

TMZ has more:

Lindsay’s defense is that the necklace was a loan … the jeweler begged to differ. So intent is critical, and if the jeweler is called to the stand and admits this was just a convenient way of scoring some quick cash from the media, Kamofie will have about as much credibility as (insert favorite celebrity who lied in “comment” section).

We know lawyers in the case have been in touch with the people at Kamofie, trying to dissuade them from selling the tape … to no avail.

No word on how this will affect plea bargain negotiations. TMZ broke the story … in the next few days, Shawn Holley, Lindsay’s lawyer, and prosecutor Danette Meyers will meet in chambers with Judge Keith Schwartz … sources tell us Holley is trying to get the judge to commit to a short jail sentence if Lindsay cops a plea.

Do you think they were trying to make some quick cash from the whole fuss they made over the necklace being stolen? Let us know in the comments!

OH OH The jeweler sold the Lohan tape and paid Lohan 20,000 dollars for her part in the scheme. Now the prosecution HAS NO CASE, and looks like fools ( which they are ) the tape should have been seized as evidence but the Police were in on the scheme also. The really stupid people were the prosecutors who should have made sure they had the evidence tape before indicting someone. Shit on them!!! They were set up. What a Story. It will be a great movie.

I do not believe for one minute that Lindsay Lohan stole that necklace. I am sure she thought it was on loan for the publicity it would bring. Intent is very important here. Shame on that jewelry company for causing so much trouble for her at such a vulnerable time. She is really trying to move on and do the right thing, and then some publicity hungry company uses her with total disregard. This is jail time for her…a serious matter. I really have sympathy for her.
