Mad Men actor Jon Hamm (Don Draper) appears in the April issue of Elle UK where he gave a verbal lashing to Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton.
In his interview with the magazine, he said, “We’re at a place where the idea of being elite is somehow considered a negative. Where it’s Paris Hilton or Kim Kardashian or whoever, stupidity is certainly celebrated.”
Here’s the good part, he blames Kim and Paris for the way that people put these idiots on pedestals when they’re unworthy. He said, “Being a f**king idiot is a valuable commodity in this culture because you’re rewarded significantly. And incuriousness has become cool. It’s celebrated. It doesn’t make sense to me.”
Amen Jon, it doesn’t make any sense to any of us how a person can be celebrated for making a sex tape and becoming uber-famous… That should have opened both of them up to ridicule on every level, but instead, it catapulted them to superstardom. They’ve glorified stupidity in every possible way. Just take Snooki, for instance. This is a plant humping midget who drinks like a fish and pees on a dance floor.
I agree with Jon, these two morons have become so celebrated that they make more than the average person does in a year, in only one night. So basically they don’t have to really work to make gazillions of dollars, yet we bust our butts on a daily basis to put food on the table.
What do you think?
