Kanye West wants everyone to know that the “voice in [his] head,” made him act like a complete moron at this year’s Grammy awards. During a talk with Ryan Seacrest on Wednesday morning the arrogant rapper said, “voices in my head told me ‘go’ and then I just walked.”
Kanye claims that the movement was a joke, but then turned serious when E! News asked him about his real motivations for the sudden decision.
In his own “nothing is ever my fault” way, Kanye blamed E! News, telling the talk show host, “I was given a platform. And when given a platform, it’s very hard, as we know – and I’m going to talk in the third person like I’m a crazy person – but it’s very hard for Kanye West to not be very true and vocal to what he feels.”
Kanye West during his Seacrest interview also backtracks on his Beck talk. “I think it came off the wrong way,” he insists. “That was a mis-wording on my part because obviously Beck is one of the most respected artists and respects artistry … He’s his own man and he’s not wrong and we’ll still go play basketball and stuff [unless] he doesn’t want to do it.”
West then says he was mostly upset that Beck didn’t mention the other artists in his acceptance speech. “I felt that even though the Grammys sometimes gives awards to people who you wouldn’t think should win in the category, as a respect to artists, we mention the other artist’s names in our speech. And that was the point I was making about it.”
West in what might have been the most surprising moment told Seacrest that he plans of recording a track with frenemy Taylor Swift, “We’re definitely going to go in,” he said. “I’m down to get in the studio and work.” In somewhat of a passive aggressive moment about Swift the rapper said, “I don’t have an elitism about music. I don’t discriminate.”
So there you have it, Kanye West hears voices in his head and he’s going to attempt to record a track with Taylor Swift.
