Randy Jackson has jumped ship from American Idol after judging for twelve seasons, amid rumors that the entire judging panel would be fired. We have also heard rumors that Nicki Minaj isn’t too keen on returning to the show. Now, we’ve learned that Keith Urban isn’t certain of his future on the hit singing competition.
In addition to all of that, there have been rumors that the show is bringing back nothing but alumni to fill the judges’ seats on the show. Reportedly, Jennifer Hudson has already agreed to judge the next season and the Idol producers are also looking at Adam Lambert and/or Clay Aiken.
In a new interview, Keith said, “I have no official information of anything. I’m pretty much in the same boat as everybody else here with the rumors that have been floating around. I don’t know anything more about what’s happening next season. It was like this before I signed on…so it’s not unusual for the Idol folks to be in this place of figuring out what they want to do, then they always pull it together.”
He added, “I did as much as I could in the environment we had. I love artists. I love the beginnings of artists when all they’ve got is raw talent and nothing else.”
Who do you want to see judging the thirteenth season of American Idol?
