In the April issue of Elle magazine, Mad Men actor Jon Hamm really went after reality TV star Kim Kardashian. He called Kim and her ilk a bunch of “f**king idiots”, to which she blathered on — on Twitter, calling his comments “careless”. Her defense? She’s a “successful businesswoman”.
Her rebuttal didn’t cause Hamm to back down though. During an appearance on Today to promote Mad Men’s fifth season, he didn’t let it go.
The show’s host, Matt Lauer, asked Hamm about his comments on the rise of reality stars. Hamm replied, “I don’t think they were careless. I think they were accurate. It’s a part of our culture that I certainly don’t identify with and I don’t really understand the appeal of it other than in a sort of car crash sensibility. It’s not something that I partake in or enjoy, but it is what it is and here we are.”
Now, it appears that the feuding duo have called a truce after finally meeting on the set of 30 Rock this week. They worked together on Thursday’s live episode of 30 Rock, in which Kardashian briefly made a cameo appearance.
Kardashian reportedly told a pal that they had “laughed it off” and claimed that Hamm was “very sweet and respectful.”
He might’ve been respectful, but we seriously doubt that he has any respect for how she became famous — which incidentally, was because of a sex tape that she signed off on through Vivid Entertainment.
