Kim Kardashian Denied Hollywood Walk Of Fame Star

In a recent interview, reality TV star Kim Kardashian threw everyone for a curve ball. She blathered on about wanting to get her own star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. Apparently someone told her that the Walk Of Fame is only for real stars with real talent, but perhaps she likes setting herself up with impossible goals. Who knew?!?

She became famous after her sex tape was released and she profited quite nicely along with her mother/manager Kris Jenner. Since, she has slapped her name on every piece of merchandise possible and has appeared on her family’s television show, “Keeping Up With The Kardashians”. Surely she must think that her name belongs on the Walk — right there next to Jerry Lewis or Regis Philbin.

She described her desire for the star on the Walk in a recent interview with “V” magazine. She revealed, “I think there was a quote where somebody said that reality stars will never get a star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame. So, of course I’m so competitive that I think that it would be a huge achievement and a goal that anyone would want. I would love to break that mold.”

A rep for the Hollywood Chamber Of Commerce said, “She has not been nominated. She is a reality star. We don’t do reality stars. She needs to get a real acting job then come to us.”

Another rep said, “Part of the criteria in being honored is receiving awards such as Emmys, SAG Awards, Oscars etc. in the category of Television, Live Stage Performance or Motion Pictures. They have to have a career in the business of acting for five years or more.”

Apparently, like the rest of the planet, the good folks at the Walk feel that Kim has no talent. Shocking, I know. We wouldn’t expect the Hollywood Chamber Of Commerce to change the way they do things just for Kim Kardashian, would you?

Do you think in the future that they will make reality television as an eligible category for inclusion on the Walk? Most celebrities who get recognition on the Walk have to be in the business for five years and more importantly, deserve it. Does Kim? Doubtful.
