Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner had her own Fox talk show titled “Kris”, but it quickly got canceled after only one season. She tried stuntcasting her own daughters on the show as well as showing off a fake baby that resembled her granddaughter North West — but nothing was able to save the failing show. Now, an executive over at Fox is speaking out about her test run.
Her show lasted a total of six weeks with the Fox network last summer, but the show’s bosses felt that Kris could never develop the show into a full series. The head honchos at the network felt that the momager was quite uninteresting pretty early on.
Senior vice president and president of programming Frank Cicha said, “I think she was pretty uninteresting [on camera]. That was one where [sister company] 20th Television tried to capitalize on a name. When the camera was on she looked not just like a deer in the headlights, but like a deer that already got hit.”
Kris tried to make the show a success and had improved as the show’s run neared the end, but the ratings were just never there. In fact, the only time when ratings were decent was when Kanye West showed up as a guest and showed off pictures of his daughter North.
Cicha said, “It wasn’t a disaster in the ratings”, saying that Kris didn’t fit well within the station’s schedule and commented that her show would’ve been expensive to produce. He added, “When you added it up, it wasn’t a show that made sense for us.”
