L.A. Reid Calls 'The X Factor' The Worst Thing He's Ever Done

L.A. Reid sat on the judges panel for the first and second seasons of The X Factor, but in a recent interview he called the experience the worst thing ever. He revealed, “It’s the worst thing I’ve ever done.”

He went on to say, “The first season, yes, I had a great time. It was a little bit of a vacation. But the second season I was fully engaged trying to run a label, and it wasn’t fun anymore. And more importantly, it really affected my taste – it almost destroyed it.”

Reid also said that he enjoyed working with fellow judge Simon Cowell, but said that “being around him for that long, I started to take on his taste, and I’m an amateur at having his taste – I’m good at my kind of taste.”

Reid later apologized to Cowell if he happened to be offended by what he had to say. He tweeted, “My comments at Midem were about me personally and were not meant to reflect on Simon Cowell, The X Factor, or its successes.”
