Lindsay Lohan claims that she still talks to her mentor Oprah Winfrey everyday. Lindsay has already had a terrible decade and has spent a lot of time in rehab over the years with a tiny bit of jail time thrown in for good measure. Now that talk show titan Oprah is giving her a second chance, she says that she talks to her mentor everyday….for cash, maybe? (Just kidding….oh wait, no we’re not).
In a new interview with Ellen DeGeneres, Lindsay said, “I speak to her almost everyday, and she’s just….she’s been so amazing to me. Just, you know, for everything, even before the show was coming out.”
She continued, “I was getting really panicked, because I hadn’t really heard my name anywhere in so long, and I would turn on the TV, and it was right after the Oscars, so I thought I’d have a minute, like I thought it would kind of distract from the show…but then I just kept hearing my name, and I started getting really, like, panicked about it. I just called her, and she was just talking me through it and everything.”
So basically she thought that her star was fading and wanted some solace over not hearing her name get mentioned anywhere? She said, “She got me really into meditation. I mean, she’s one of the reasons why that’s such a big part of my life. She’s just been a really strong guiding light and force to me as a friend and someone that I admire.”
Of her most recent stay in rehab last summer, she said, “When I went to treatment this time, when I went to Cliffside, I really wanted a moment for myself, and I learned a lot of different tools and things that I didn’t in the past. In the past — a lot of people don’t know this – I was sent to rehab to avoid trying to put me in jail. So it wasn’t something I necessarily wanted or was ready for. This was the first time where I went to Shawn Holley, my lawyer, and said, ‘Look, I need some time. I need to figure something out.’ So I’m just going to do what I have to do to get there again.”
With regard to the future, Lindsay said, “I just want to work and take care of me right now.”
