On Oprah, Madonna shed some light on her side of the story with reference to her adoption of the Malawian baby, David. Per MTV News, it appears that the material girl had no clue that there was any fuss until she got back to England:
“I didn’t realize that the adoption was causing any controversy until I came back [to England],” Madonna said in her first televised interview since the adoption. “There were a million crews in the airport and press camped outside my door. … It’s pretty shocking.”
Banda said people did not give him a chance to explain his position better because the media was only interested in knowing about David and Madonna.
“What we agreed with Madonna was that she looks after my child until he finishes school, becomes independent and comes back home to us,” Banda said.
What concerns me now is whether or not the pop icon will relinquish David to his natural father if he wants him back? Or will she agree to take care of the child and return him after he’s received an education?
