Former American Idol judge Mariah Carey will fire a nanny to her children within minutes if they think they are more important to her children than she is. As you already know, she and husband Nick Cannon are parents to two-year-old twins Moroccan and Monroe and she doesn’t want any of the help stepping in to try and take her place in their lives.
Due to her strict schedule, she has help caring for the twins, but says that she definitely has rules to follow if her nannies want to stay employed. She revealed, “Unfortunately I have to have nannies, but I’m very hands-on. I fire nannies like this (snapping her fingers). And I hate doing it, but I have to because if they try to make themselves more important in the babies’ mind than me…”
With regard to how the singer will be celebrating her Valentine’s Day, she said that she isn’t even sure if her husband will be around. She said that even if he isn’t around, he always shows her affection during the rest of the year. She said, “I have to say Nick is very festive as well. I give him credit where credit’s due; flowers, we celebrate our anniversary every month of the year.”
She also spoke on the subject of American Idol, where she shared the judging table with fellow singer Nicki Minaj. With regard to their shared drama, she said, “I don’t even remember what that was. That was a moment in my life that I’m just going to press delete.”
There were rumors floating around that Mariah signed on to do the show for a cool $12 million, but she reveals that’s not exactly the case. She said, “No, I’m sorry, but I wouldn’t have done it for twelve.”
