Nick Cannon Talks Mariah Carey Divorce

Nick Cannon is finally opening up about his divorce from Mariah Carey. When the news was first announced, it was thought that Nick was gagged by Mariah so that he wouldn’t speak publicly about personal matters. He maintained that it wasn’t part of his character to speak ill of his former relationship and said that it was a private matter and he wouldn’t ever be speaking about it.

Meanwhile, rumors hit a fever pitch that there was cheating involved in the marriage. Speculation began when Nick announced that they weren’t together, but Mariah sealed the deal when she changed the lyrics to one of her songs to something about cheating. Since, the two have been mum on the topic of the divorce, but Nick is opening up!

He opened up in a new interview about how he is doing following his split from the singer. The “America’s Got Talent” host said, “I’m just taking everything one day at a time and just being the best person that I can possibly be at the end of the day.”

Nick has taken steps in order to distance himself from his estranged wife by covering up the “Mariah” tattoo that he had on his back. He revealed, “It’s not finished yet. I’ll talk to you when it gets finished. It wasn’t supposed to be revealed yet. I was not in the middle of the street. I was on private property. I didn’t know they were there. That’s how sneaky paparazzi are.”

He went on to say, “I gotta be careful. I had just gotten it done. It was painful. I couldn’t have anything touching it.”

With regard to the couple’s children, Nick said, “They are great man. They are doing amazing. They are on the road right now with mommy on tour. It’s all love, man. I just wish her nothing but the best. We’re in contact constantly. You know, you might have an off night here and there, but she’s one of the greatest performers and entertainers of all time.”
