On last week’s show, America said goodbye to country singer Janelle Arthur. She was the weakest link on the show and was eliminated. The judges opted not to use their only save of the season and she was given the boot. Did America send the right contestant home? We thought so!
Left in the competition are Kree Harrison, Angie Miller, Amber Holcomb and Candice Glover. Who have you been rooting for this season?
Tonight, we will be providing our live coverage of the show as it airs from 8 to 10PM EST. As always, refresh this page often for the latest updates. In the meantime, tell us who has been getting your votes this season! Also, let us know your thoughts on whether or not the producers should replace Mariah Carey with Jennifer Lopez to finish out the season!
The contestants are visiting a children’s hospital in Los Angeles. Amber Holcomb is up first singing “The Power Of Love” by Celine Dion. Keith said the song was tailor made for her voice and it was an amazingly perfect song choice. He loved her range, it was crazy and effortless. Nicki said she’s up there looking like a big sexy glass of milk up there. That song was made for her. Randy said she looks like a black and white cookie. She has the most growth throughout the entire contest. She didn’t miss a beat. Mariah said she has glorious tones and the song was perfect for her. She gave flavor to a classic song.
Candice Glover is up next performing “Find Your Love” by Drake. Nicki said her voice is amazing. She wishes she would’ve stuck to the melody. She has to find her market and doesn’t want her to get lost in the old-fashioned market. Randy said the vocals are the easy part. She’s that church girl and has an amazing instrument. Every phrase doesn’t need a run and can’t always sound like she’s in church. Mariah said she took her to a place where she needed to be. She can sing anything and everything. Keith said she loved what she did with the song. She needs to find herself and she’s doing that every week.
Kree Harrison is taking the stage next to perform her rendition of “Hurts So Bad” by Little Anthony & The Imperials. Randy said she was right there in her element. She’s not just country and she can do everything. It wasn’t the best vocal he’s heard from her. Mariah said she was happy watching her perform. There were moments she was truly connected to the audience. She lost herself in the moment and the song. Keith said all four of them are exceptional and it’s coming down to performance, song choice and emotions. She has to leave nothing on the table and it was not enough. She needs to make his heart break. Nicki said that performance is not going to give her what she needs to get that seat for next week. That was not a top four worthy performance.
Angie Miller is up next taking on “Who You Are” by Jessie J. Mariah said she’s standing up in spirit. The caliber of the performance was “beyond”. It was stunning and amazing. Songwriting can give her a career with longevity. Sing an original song at the piano and be inspiring! Keith said he has confidence in her as an artist. As the song went on, she got more carefree and looser. Nicki said there’s no one that compares to her in the competition when she’s behind her piano. Randy said she made him forget it was a Jessie J. song and it was sheer perfection. It’s the best performance of the night and she is in it to win it.

After already being involved in the Muppets, Jason Segel has decided to author a series of children’s books. We can’t imagine a more suitable author for a genre of books. Doesn’t he seem like he’s such a great guy? Perhaps he is wanting to do this to get back in the good graces of his ex-girlfriend Michelle Williams?
The book series is titled “Nightmares!” and will be co-written by Kirsten Miller. CBS News reports:
“Nightmares!” is an adventure story about a group of kids who realize it’s up to them to save their town from fear, which has manifested itself in the form of nightmare creatures that have entered the everyday world. In essence, the series is about kids overcoming their fears.
Segel first hatched the premise as a movie project. He wrote a screenplay years ago, though it got stuck in turnaround, so Segel took it back and reverse-adapted it into a book.
The actor said in a press release, “Ultimately, it’s a story about learning that we can accomplish anything, as long as we are brave enough to try. These are the types of stories that always inspired me.”
Random House’s president and publisher, Barbara Marcus said, “Jason Segel has the perfect voice to write for children. Nightmares! is inventive, genuine, and relatable to middle-grade readers. We’re thrilled to see Jason’s creative vision translated to the page, and can’t wait to introduce him to the publishing world as a tremendous new talent.”
The first book in the series is expected to hit shelves in the fall of 2014.
The good folks over at “People” magazine obviously do not know the definition of beautiful, considering that they have placed Gwyneth Paltrow on the cover — claiming that she’s the world’s most beautiful woman. Ugh.
This is a woman who is such a pretentious snob that she thinks every day people have thousands of dollars to spend on food and clothes every month. We are of the mind that true beauty comes from the inside and we don’t feel that she could represent any class of people — not even beautiful ones. Sure, she’s pretty – but she is so out of touch that it’s not even funny. We would love to see her living on $50.00 per day. That’s a challenge that we don’t think she could live up to whatsoever. From the magazine:
“Around the house, I’m in jeans and a T-shirt. I don’t really wear makeup. That’s what they’re used to,” she says. As for her husband, Chris Martin, “He’ll make a joke about it. If I’ve gotten fully dressed up, he’ll be like, ‘Oh, wow! You’re Gwyneth Paltrow!’ Because he’s used to seeing me in like baggy shorts and frizzy hair.”
And Paltrow wouldn’t have it any other way. With her second cookbook, It’s All Good, debuting at No. 1 on the New York Times bestseller list and her next film, Iron Man 3, hitting theaters on May 3, Paltrow credits her workout routine for keeping her looking youthful and less tired.
“It makes me look younger and feel strong,” says the actress, who does the Tracy Anderson Method five days a week. “When I first started, I thought, ‘I’ll never be good at this. This is a nightmare!’ But now it’s like brushing my teeth, I just do it.”
What do you think of their choice for the title and cover? Are you feeling Gwyneth Paltrow as the world’s most beautiful woman? If not, who do you think would have made a better choice?
