Phillip Phillips Confident In His Readiness For American Idol 2012 Tour

“American Idol” season eleven winner Phillip Phillips has been plagued with illness since his audition of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” in Savannah, Georgia. The singer was suffering through kidney problems throughout the entire season and had undergone six surgeries in order to remain in the competition.

During the hometown visits on the show, Phillip visited his personal physician who advised him that he needed surgery on his kidneys as soon as the show ended. After he was crowned the winner, he underwent the last surgery, but was sure that it wouldn’t affect the 2012 Idols Live Tour.

In a new interview, he said, “I’m pretty confident…I’m just going to have fun with it. It’s going to go well, I believe.”

He also revealed, “I wrote a song with David Ryan Harris I really like. Most of the ones I have written is just me but I would like to write with Rob Thomas, he is one of my favorites.”

Yes, we could totally see Phillip Phillips working with Rob Thomas! That would be the best collaboration ever. The Idol Tour kicks off in Detroit on July 6th, are you going?
