Phillip Phillips Underwent Kidney Surgery

“American Idol” 2012 winner Phillip Phillips has finally had the kidney surgery that he has put off since auditioning for season eleven of the talent competition. Phillip had been suffering through the pain of kidney stones since beginning the show, but held out to win the whole shebang.

He was scheduled to have his kidney surgery a week after the show’s finale, but had to reschedule due to a high fever and sinus infection. Phillip underwent the six-and-a-half-hour surgery on Wednesday in Los Angeles and is said to be recovering well. TMZ reports that the kidney stones were so large that he had no chance of passing them on his own.

Phillip’s rep said, “He’s resting and will be ready for the Idol tour kickoff in July!”

We hope so! All of his Philatics are happy that he’s doing so well and we’re anticipating his debut album!.
