Photos: Adam Lambert does ‘Vman’ magazine

Adam Lambert talks about his fashion inspirations in issue #17 of “Vman” magazine, which is set to hit newsstands on Thursday.

He is featured in the publication’s “How To Dress Like A Pop Star” section and he spoke about where he finds his inspiration.

He said, “What I do has been done before. It’s glam. I’m inspired by the ’70s and ’80s. Bowie is a huge influence. So are hair bands. Why must a crazy look necessarily be gay? Our society is more fearful, I guess. And they don’t party enough. Everyone was partying in the ’80s.”

Adam will be serving as a fashion correspondent for Entertainment Tonight’s Grammy coverage on February 1st.

Pop star? I thought he was supposed to be a rock ‘n roll star? But it’s not like he’s a real artist anyway, since it’s clear he’d rather talk about fashion than music.

Haha don’t hate because he can do more than one thing. He actually can do many many things, and he does all of them very, very well. Including singing the National Anthem. Unlike your fave.

Since rock and roll and pop began artists have been blending music and fashion to create a look, a mood, a sound. By your ignorant estimation, Bowie, GaGa and Michael Jackson are not “real artists”. Lambert shares their drive to create using the theatrics of music, vocals and fashion in an effort to enhance the experience. To make performing more than just a person strumming a guitar. It’s sad to think that we’ve become so jaded in our musical tastes that the latter is what we’ve come to expect.

On another note. Thank you for following Lambert’s career so closely.

Based on your explanation Madonna, Rihanna, Beyonce, Sean Combs, Jennifer Lopez, Lady GaGa are less than the artists (pop, hip hop) that they are because they in magazine articles about fashion. Jennifer Lopez and Sean Combs have their own fashion lines, Beyonce wears and promotes the fashion line her mother created. Adam, based on this article, is discussing his fashion. American Idol had never had a contestant on their show prior to Adam who was unique in style and substance. It may have been was he sining, his stage presence that won many fans over, but many of us loved his look: the hair, the painted nails, and of course the guyliner.. And if you get a chance to look at YT, you'll see that Adam has always been unique and authentic. He's not a poser or a pretender; he's the real deal. What you see is what you get. His music is great, and I have two versions of his CD (the Deluxe and regular versions) and downloaded his music twice (from iTunes and Amazon). His music is great and he has an amazing voice, and there isn't a day that goes by when I am not listening to "FYE." V-Man is a fashion magazine, and Adam is interviewed in it because he has great personal style.

@Kelly, have you heard or watched any of Adam’s interviews? If you have, then you should know that Adam loves to talk about music and is very knowledgeable about it. His father was a radio DJ who introduced him to all types of music when he was young. Adam can sing anything. He doesn’t believe in genres and he loves to listen to all types of music, except maybe country. Maybe you should check out youtube and Adam Official before you comment on something you obviously know nothing about.

Adam is appearing in so many classy magazines. I’m so excited for him. He is truly a great artist and also a well rounded guy. Congratulations Adam!

People are so lame with negative comments about Adam's fashion sense. Does anyone forget that The Beatles changed everything in culture around the world just by cutting their hair and wearing those fabulous skinny suits? All it took was a nano-second and fashion, music, movies, photographs and music magazines were all transformed by The Beatles.

Adam is just a link in that chain. He is an artist in every sense of the word. Music, fashion, videos, movies, theater, etc. will be in his future. The negative ninnies have no vision.
