William Shatner has fronted Priceline’s commercials for 14 years, but after this last ad, the Negotiator has been axed.
He’s on a bus with some would-be vacationers, when it teeters on the edge of a bridge. As they cue the “negotiator” music, he says that there’s no time. He evacuates the bus, telling the lady on the bridge, “Save yourself….some money” as he hands her his cell phone.
Then, in grandiose fashion, the bus plummets over the bridge, exploding on the ground.
Priceline CEO Christopher Soder said, “We decided to do something really over the top to get the message across.”
The actor added, “I’m in grief mode”, adding, “It’s not the first time I’ve had an iconic character die off.”
Are you sad to see William Shatner die as his character plummeting from a bridge? Have you seen the commercial yet? Thoughts?
