Did you watch Rosie O’Donnell leave the view on Thursday? If you blinked you may have missed her final exit. The comedian and two-time host of the all female talk show said her goodbye in a segment that lasted 40 seconds.
During her very short exit Rosie O’Donnell thanks show creator Barbara Walters for having her on the show as a host on two different occasions. O’Donnell’s first performance lasted eight months and ended in 2007.
Her exit comes at a time when she is dealing with a divorce, raising five children, and suffered from a heart attack.
“We’ve had fun and I hope we’ll have more,” she said. “I’ll come back and do an occasional crafting segment because I have a hot glue gun and will travel.”
Rosie O’Donnell was not subdued on her final episode, going after Kanye West for his post-Grammy Awards rant at Beck, while also attacking a Montana legislator who is trying to ban too-tight clothing.
Between her strange Twitter battles with Donald Trump to her refusal to shy away from controversy, O’Donnell was by far the most outspoken host on ‘The View.’ She was joined on the panel by Whoopi Goldberg, Rosie Perez and Nicolle Wallace.
The ABC show has averaged 2.91 million viewers per day, down from 3.04 million last season. The show is dangerously close to be surpassed by CBS’s knockoff “The Talk, which has reported a 2.69 million viewers rating.
The audience was chanting “Rosie. Rosie” before the cameras turned off and now we must wait to see who replaces O’Donnell as the fourth female host of ‘The View.’
