Russell Brand Divorcing Katy Perry Over Cocaine

On Wednesday, it was revealed, via the latest cover of Star magazine, that Katy Perry and Russell Brand are divorcing due to cocaine. However, at the time, it wasn’t revealed who was having the drug trouble. Now, via Celebitchy, we know that it was Katy that is the alleged cokemonster and Russell just got plain sick and tired of it.

A snitch close to the couple revealed that Russell “hit the roof” after learning what Katy was doing in Hawaii. He’s a recovering drug addict, so he obviously needs to stay as far away from that stuff as humanly possible.

An insider revealed, “Katy runs with a really wild crowd. They will party all night till the sun comes up, doing line after line of coke.”

The source went on to say that it got so bad that Russell had no other choice but to file for divorce. The source said, “How is Russell supposed to feel when he hears that his wife is out till all hours of the night.”

It’s rather uncertain whether or not it was actually Katy doing the drugs, from what the source said next. The spy said, “He can only assume the worst. Russell was a truly horrible addict. It’s a day-by-day struggle for him to stay sober and walk the right path now. He’s really turned his life around, and he couldn’t let it be destroyed.”

Are you curious if this will all be in his next Booky Wook? Would you buy it? Another source said, “She went from this sweet, adorable woman that he was madly in love with to a needy person who surrounded herself with hangers-on who were using her.”

The insider added, “She’d throw back Tequila shots, chain smoke and have mood swings. He gave her an ultimatum: ‘Get rid of your hard-partying friends or lose me forever!'”

What do you think?

UPDATE: Radar Online has issued a retraction:

In its February 6, 2012 issue in the article entitled Real Reason Behind Katy & Russell’s Divorce: Cocaine Ripped Them Apart, Star reported that Katy Perry did not use cocaine, and the article was not intended to imply that she has any history of drug use.

We concur. We never claimed Katy Perry is or ever was a cokehead. We just report what we heard, yo.

Well, if Katy Perry is truly the one doing cocaine, it is time for her to stop. If she can’t stop, then she needs to admit she is powerless to stop and get into a twelve-step program immediately.  If her husband was discouraged by her drug and party abuse, she needs to demonstrate that she is no longer going to live that lifestyle.

Now, Russell on the other hand, needs to stop dating other women for thirty seconds and put his attention back on Katy.  If he is playing the “tough-love card”  then I respect what he is doing.  If he is simply fleeing because he can’t take the conflict, then I cannot respect his actions, especially in light of him claiming ” if he is alive, then he is married” on Ellen’s show.

Every marriage has conflict, so join the club.  Russell, you need to surrender your pride (a non-spiritual attribute) and go into counseling with Katy.  Yes, there will be conflict.  If you don’t resolve the conflict in this relationship, don’t worry there will be more in the next relationship.  There is no such thing as a conflict-free relationship.  Learn to be a man that is willing to stand and see a problem through.  That is what I call a really spiritual person.

When the cover of the magazine is “Angie 98 lbs, Pregnant & Headed For Rehab!” it loses credibility. Don’t believe Star magazine, they are a terrible source for information.

Can’t believe anything that is written about Katy and Russell until they speak out themselves, it seems plausible given how in love they seemed but then so do some other stories such as them just not being together enough…

If there is any truth behind this article I’d say it’s a lesson learned for Katy! She was well aware of Russell”s addiction problems, but obviously does not understand how crucial it is in one’s life to backslide. Every day is a battle!!! If she really loved him this would not have been an issue. Russell is a very intelligent person, and for him to take this drastic step to file for divorce says it all!!! One of the steps in recovery new life, new friends, and keep away from enablers. I salute you Russell, 9 yrs clean keep it up mate. You will find the right woman that will understand you, and love you for who you are!!!!
